Dragged an unlawful dismissal suit on for almost 4 years .Huffed and puffed and in the end , I received less than if I had settled upfront with the Company.Costs were all along to be part of the settlement, included . Before I got my disbursements I was tagged with a 65,000 bill which was held back in after income tax dollars.A 100k error in judgement and trust on my behalf.Seemed like a nice enough man , but very unprepared/professional in the courtroom.

He did not file a response to counterclaim in time, allowing my ex to get a default judgement for what I hired him to prevent happening. I didn't find out about this until I went down to the law courts and looked at my file myself. He knew we were in default for AN ENTIRE YEAR and didn't tell me, let on that everything was progressing normally when I called for updates. The first I heard of an order for spousal support was when I got a letter from MEP saying my account was 3 months in arrears. I didn't even find out I was divorced until I looked at my file at the law courts. Back at the beginning, when he wrote up the Statement of Claim for Divorce, it was full of errors, which I had to correct (as another reviewer also noted). I have been forced to hire another lawyer to take over my case because he simply is not competent. It will cost thousands to undo the damage he has done to my case and get back to where we started. Do not hire Mr. Brett under any circumstances.

Was good at giving straight answers when asked on opinions on case. when quoted price for retainer quoted a reasonable price then later double the retainer when he took the case. poor communication. filed papers and did not send them to me until 4 months later??? Did not complete his job fully had to finish the job myself. File papers and talk to other lawyer.

Signed papers without my consent to benefit my ex. Never prepared and doesn't know the file even when the appointment is made for that exact problem.

I was trying to get a disclosure list done and gave them all the pertinent info. I am called down to his office and nothing is done correctly. I had to retype most of the info myself. He had the nerve to ask for more money when he only served papers on my ex.
