Complete waste of time and money. Rude and unprofessional is an understatement. Always worried about money and when more is coming rants on and on never getting anything finished. Completely useless and does nothing but find ways to insult you and turn it around when you call her out on anything. This is one for the bar, she is not out for her clients but her own gain. If i could rate lower i would she needs to retire

Do waste your money and time on this lawyer. Very unprofessional and very biased, She will verbally abuse and put you down as you are a no body in her eyes. She does not have your best interest and acts more like shen is helping the person you are going to court against. She will not use any proper documents you have to help you with your case. This lawyer needs to be repramanded to the lawyer society of ontario!

This so-called lawyer represented my ex-husband. Not sure what to say... She is impossible to speak to, seems annoyed and frazzled always, and is extremely unprofessional, rude and seems very unstable. I am very confused how this person is even allowed in a court room.

She is unprofessional, rude, disrespectful and extremely disorganized. I picked her randomly to represent me and ended up wasting my time, money, and patience. I felt a huge difference when I started dealing with another lawyer, a professional one, who took over my case and helped me reach a fair outcome in court.

I'm a male going through hardships with my ex. I think the most important thing here to realize is that Jane has been doing this for almost 30 years. The language spoken between you and the judge is very different than the actual codes that are sworn and spoken by. Jane speaks by these codes. If you walk into her office and say well, I think this or I think that!!! She will not be able to defend you unless what you are thinking can be related to the laws that are structured as such. I am a client of Janes. Although she corrects me, I know that when she explains things to me, that it's in my best interest to listen. She' s a professional. I almost broke down when I was talking to her and she was very comforting putting my mind at ease. It is what it is. She has Charisma and I would select her any day of the week, any month of the year to be my lawyer.

Unprofessional, dishonest lawyer who is biased against men, does not encourage maximum contact of children and their fathers against a child's best interest and right of equal time to spend with both parents, she cares more about the money then the outcome of our children's lives. Absolute disgrace to the Canadian Divorce Act.

I retained Miss McKenzie to represent me on a criminal matter. First impression of her was that she had disposition that was intelligent, professional and down to earth. She agreed to represent me e even though I was a little short with my retainer. In court she was treated respectfully by the judge as well as the crown. I also appreciated the way she treated me in my situation. Always letting me know she needed to ask me some questions that may offend me but that that was not her intention. I appreciated that when she said she was going to do something, she did it. Also she was very helpful in payment for her services as I was unemployed at the time. I would definetly recommend Jane to any of my peers.

She had the most patience of anyone I have ever met. She takes the time with you to hear you side of things and offers her honest advice on the law and how it pertains to your individual case. I have the utmost confidence in her ability to handle any and all of my family law matters.

Jane McKenzie is the most inconsiderate, unprofessional, patronizing, and offensive person I have ever met. Even worse, she is responsible for the outcome of people's lives. I wouldn't want to be around her even if she was the best representation around. I was willing to put up with a lot of abuse from her because she told me I had a good case and promised to help. I should have fired her as soon as I got the first red flag. Avoid this woman at all costs. She would constantly talk down to me, wasted an insane amount of time lecturing me, never returned calls, and lied constantly. She taunted me and insulted me, and questioned my credibility despite my legitimate documentation. She feigned investment in my case and then told me I had no hope after I had committed to her. I hope no one is desperate enough to use Jane as a lawyer ever again. From her unprofessional court appearance to her sour disposition, she is the worst decision for representation anyone could ever make. RUN AWAY!

I found Ms. McKenzie to be so terribly unprofessional, disorganized, and inept. She devotes far more energy to attempting to protect herself against potential recrimination than serving the best interests of her clients. That in itself suggests much. She took a great deal of my money, wasted a tremendous amount of time, and accomplished nothing. She was inattentive and unresponsive to the issues at hand. When finally confronted on her ineffectiveness, incompetence, and unprofessionalism she closed my file and left me totally high and dry without one benefit accomplished in addressing my legal concerns. I was left to start completely over, only much more financially burdened because of the money lost on her. The Law Society of Upper Canada should be made aware of this person and would be derelict if allowing her to continue to inflict the level of harm she appears to inflict as indicated in so many of these reviews.

So we have to get all the supporting documents for my mother's sponsorship application notarized before I submit it to the immigration.
We went to the lawyer's office today. This is what happened: We sat down & I handed her all the original & copied documents that she needs to verify & notarize. So my husband took our little Sydney out thinking he doesn't need to stay there with us.
The lawyer looked at my mother's passport & started to make a fuss over it.. questioning us if it was really a real passport document because she couldn't find the page 2 which was obviously the preceding page before page 3. I was trying to explain to her that this is how our passport was made & it is different from a Canadian passport.
I can tell by her gestures that she was really in doubt so she asked me this: "How is your English? Is it pretty good?" & so I answered "Yes."
I was thinking how on earth did she become a lawyer? She is very unprofessional, tactless, weird, argumentative, scat

This lawyer only cares about one thing...Taking your money...she does not listen to what you want. She will do what she wants to get her the most out of you. she is rude, unprofessional and downright out for the all mighty buck..she does not give one ounce of care as to how the outcome of your case is. Cross her and she will take your money and bend you over even harder. Do not waste you money or time on this lawyer. All this i got in just a 20 minute consultation that she tried to say I owed her 125 dollars for witch most lawyers do for free. in that 20 minutes we did not talk to much about the case other then what was going on with me..I kid you not the almost the first thing out of her mouth was.." did you bring the cash" what would you like to do today. Really! has she been listening to what we were saying that would not have been the question she had. I wanted to get all the motions started and the ball rolling. complete waste of time on both parts.

I had her with legal aid then decide that maybe she would work more and go to trial right away if I paid her,I've been in court for almost 2 years now and she took my money and use it all on calling his lawyer and making a court date that I have to pay his court fees if I lose and putting a order that I can never leave my area ! I finally fired her and now I am in a big mess who ever had luck with her must be one in a million cause she was rude and I am a single mom not getting any support from anyone and she used up all my money and now I'm not even ahead and I spent everything on her wasting my time! She didn't even listen to my instruction and wasted legal aid money buy saying I didn't get accepted for trial when I did and I only found out after it expired ! Not impress with her services at all

I obtained Jane through legal aid. She seemed great originally. But soon after began being late for appointments, very rude and argumentive, changing her mind/strategy all the time. In one phone conversation she told me that if my family could give her $10,000 she could win against my ex husband's high-paid lawyer, but because I was legal aid, I would only get a competent job from her. Realizing how corrupt she was from that, I fired her, my family helped me get a paid lawyer. We found out later that while I still had Jane, I had been granted a temp. court order in my favour. Jane failed to inform me of this! I missed the date I was supposed to retrieve property from the marital home because of this! Thankfully, the case was still settled in my favour with my new lawyer. But Jane sure did damage!

Jane is awful! All of the comments below reflect what happened to us. She was hired for my nephew, who is seeking sole custody of his child, after she took his retainer she spent 15 minutes photocopying 5 pieces of paper, came back and told him he wasn't ever going to get custody and that the judge will give it to the mother, basically telling him to give up. She then spent two hours on the phone telling him the same thing and kept calling. She cancelled his appointment an hour before he was to go, She then refused to meet with him in person, said they had nothing to talk about and if he wanted to see her she needed more money. She told him she wasn't going to go to court unless he paid her more money. Finally after an hour of us discussing what we needed to do, she called him and said she was closing his case because he's "wasting her time". All of this happening TWO days before his court appearance, leaving him without anyone to represent him! Beware of this scam artist lawyer!

I have personally found Jane McKenzie to be a very good Family lawyer. She has superior knowledge of all family law matters and will go the extra mile to get you a good settlement. She filed an emergency order for me quickly and saved the day! I would recomend her to anyoine who needs a good family lawyer!
