Over 2 and a half years ago I hired Steve E. Evenson of Evenson Law Firm. He didn't just become my lawyer, he became a friend! Steve not only met my expectations, he exceeded my expectations by a thousand miles! Steve may not be the cheapest but he is the BEST! I observed this poor excuse for a piece of garbage lawyer in court in Fallon on a child custody case. My daughter, Marilyn York, was his opposing counsel. He bullied his way in Court every chance he got, being disrespectful of the Judge as well as opposing counsel. Result was he lost and because of his bullying everyone hates him including at least (9) lawyers in Reno that I know. If you want a strong lawyer to fight for you, stay away from this loser who bullies his way instead of using good legal practices such as being prepared, communicating with opposing counsel and trying to settle cases. Instead he endlessly tries to extend cases which drives up costs on both sides. If you hire a bully lawyer, you will get what you deserve - being bullied or becoming a bully that will torpedo your own case.

Paid him 4500 to defend the other side. Worst damn attorney ever.Had to fire him and pay another 4500 to find one that would defend us. Cant get a hold of him or get any info to save your life either.

His paralegal is not friendly,and ineffectual. You can never get ahold of him. He continually continued the court dates which made the case twice as long as it should have.The judgement I was supposed to get was partial because he never followed through,and dropped the ball.I never got the resolution I wanted.

Tried to retain Mr. Evenson. He missed multiple appointments. His staff asked me to call and reschedule if my appointment was missed by him again. I did so and was yelled at and treated very badly. I waa told my child custody case waa not important that he deals with bigger issues. I have never has a worst experience!!! Horrible staff and worst lawyer ever.

Steve evenson is a slime ball! He will and has lied cheated and stole from people to get his way. He has been involved in several different cases through out the last 10 years that I've been somehow involved with. I've personally paid him to keep someone out of prison for drugs "my mistake" then had him and the same individual conspire a pretty good but completely false long and very detailed case accusing me of doing drugs. I've watched him take 2 kids from a father who was wonderful and put them in the custody of a heroin junkie just for the child support. He has hidden money for clients going through divorce. He is disgusting and ruthless. Mr. evenson should not be allowed in public let alone have full access and input on any court matter!

Steve won my dui case today in Elko, I had heard you don't win dui cases here but he did. He gets a little loud with people but its a good show even if I lost it would have been worth it to watch that unfold. Just make sure you have your stuff straight and he will run with it. A bit hard to get ahold of but It wont matter as long as you have your facts straight

I paid him 75oo which he said was the full aount, but when we got ready to go to trial he said he needed another coupel of thousand. Pure bull****, and he treated my wife like a fool.

Steve was extreamly hard to get in touch with. He drug our case out for over a year. In the end we got the outcome we wanted only because of myself and his paralegal Kate doing all the leg work. He over charged us for the amount of work he actually did. He would show up in court late, he would forget all the right documents, couldn't remember the details to our case, and would make enemies with all he came in contact with. He failed to file documents properly with the court. He is a waste of money and a waste of time. Do not hire him. He will play nice with you so you will hire him and then show his true colors. He is an arrogant prick! WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME! JERK!!

I paid the very large retainer up front, only to find that I could never reach him. He hid behind different offices, and always being on vacation. His staff never has any information about anything, other than they have to talk to him and he is in court. He showed up to court and wasnt prepared, didnt even bring any of the information on my case to the court. We proceeded to get our butts handed to us when he pissed of the judge and made the other attorney look like he was an angel. After the case, he said dont worry about it, it would be ok. He screwed up the letter to the judge that had the findings of the case and the other attorney got everything that the other party had asked for. The NRS seemed pretty clear that I was in the right, so this should have been an in field fly, but he boffed it so bad and is so uncaring that now I have completely lost. Worst attorney of all time and he doesnt even care! I am going to report him to the Nevada Ethics Board.

This guy makes enemies of everyone in the court room making your case even worse than it really is. I have seen him alienate judges, juries, witnesses, victims, police officers and supects. He attempts to appear and a "hard ass" however in doing so he proves he is a donkey. This attorney makes attorneys look bad!

Steve is a great attorney. He is very honest and personable with his clients. He courtroom demeanor is very professional, yet he is very tenacious during questioning. The only thing that could be improved on, is that he is sometimes hard to get ahold of because he is very busy. However, he always called back within 24 hours. Overall, he was worth every last cent I paid him.

Having spent &/or wasted much my own time giving details of the case, this Attorney was hired (& accepted) to file a lawsuit. Copies and a payment were made and sent to the office. Normally and from experience, this guy would have the check cashed and spent (as on vacation or his hobby) before any work is done on the your case, so I wondered why my check was not clearing the bank, I contacted his secretaries who always spoke to me in vague circles (for being the client?). After wasting almost two months of precious time, I received my packet back w/ an excuse letter that was fairly easy to read between the lines. He said something about staying within his own field of expertise... At this point I would say that appears to be overcharging his clients, talking down to the people he is suppose to be working for and keeping them in the dark about their case while dragging it out for months on end for whatever reason. This is my observation, don't believe? Hire him and find out.

I have several complaints, in line with other attorneys I've met, they like to tell you about all of their years of experience and knowledge, which is supposed to make you feel better when their overcharging you for a possible reputation or work that secretaries do (or don't do) all the while treating you like a common criminal for your case. I paid his entire fee up front, which was probably a mistake, no sooner did my check get deposited, he didn't show up for a hearing that he was supposed to go to and made excuses about not being there and being late to subsequent hearings or court dates, which is funny because the extent of his legal advice was "be responsible and don't make excuses". I felt pretty well "in the dark" for 3 months of waiting and stressing, and when I called to see what was going on with my case, I was told that He was on vacation for a week, and another time that I was wasting time they could be using to work on something more important???
