This is who I want protecting me, and helping me on my behalf! Way to go Kevin and crew! A HUGE thank you!! -Kirsten RID: 57100
4/19/08   1     1     1     1     1   The man is a liar and is completely lacking in ethics. He first billed for services retroactively and then charged interest on the resulting unpaid balance. He then violated his own fee agreement by demanding an additional retainer when the fee agreement instead specified monthly payments--and when the client was not able to meet the demand for an additional retainer, Lafky withdrew from the case and charged the client for that "service." He also failed to name a responsible defendant in the complaint, thus making it impossible to recover damages for a civil rights violation. And he ignored client wishes to withhold discovery pending a settlement offer from the defendant, so as to increase his billable hours. And, incredibly, the state bar had no problem at all with his unethical conduct. RID: 9211

2/28/08   2     2     4     2     1   Mr. Lafky advised me to sue my employer who was going bankrupt. When asked about this, Mr. Lafky stated he didn't see how it would have any bearing on my case. After the suit was filed, the bankruptcy court informed us the company was under court protection and we could not go forward with our lawsuit. I would think anyone graduating from law school would know this, but Mr. Lafky charged me over $3000 to file a bunch of needless paperwork. RID: 8290
