Very down to earth (which I like). Nearly wise. It's clear that the judge held him in high regard. Nothing is cheap in Ann Arbor but it's true: you get what you pay for. He did a great job.

I have never in my life been treated the way Steve Reed treated me. I have been in front of some pretty horrible Judges and people in general and I hired him to help the children, Yes I PAID someone to help the boys and in return, Steve has turned all of our lives up side down.Steve is an ego driven, male chauvinist, one sided poor example of a person stating he is doing what is in the "best interest" of the children. He refused to listen to the counselor, he didn't take anything the boys had to say in to account and he over stepped completely from what I thought I was hiring him for. I hope people research before ever hiring this person. He is inhumane and a loney miserable person set out to ruin lives. He made that clear the first 10 minutes I met him. But you have to pay him before you meet him. That should be clue number one!! He talked to me like I was a criminal, not someone who loved her children. Poor values! I will take this to the top.

Steve was brought in to be a impartial mediator for a 16 year old who wishes to not live with his Mother due to the way the Mother treats him. Steve choose to ignore the 16 year old, Ignore The teenagers counselor of 5 years who recommends him out of that living condition. Refused to speak with witnesses who will testify of the mothers drug abuse and selling of narcotics. Steve's recommendation, its both the parents fault, That he will be included in all communication between the parents. When confronted about decision would not tell the truth and then stated he did not have to explain himself. A few days later requested money from each party to stay as mediator and remain in the middle of all communication. Steve is rude and degrading and believes nothing. Has his own agenda- MONEY

Mr Reed presents himself as a man trying to assist you in your time of need, and $1500 retainer seemed resonable at the time, until he quickly ran up the bill with $50 emails from his associates. No wonder he has so many empty offices in his firm and everyone is young but Steve. Stay away..this lawyer will run up the bill before you ever get to mediation or court.

Let me tell you about this man. First of all, he was very inattentive to my divorce matter for which I hired him. He was crude and not very professional. He 'fired' me as his client because I couldn't pay him all of his money at once. In addition, he is suing me, a single mother of three because I still owe him $700. I have made payments quite regularly except for when recently unemployed. He contacted my new lawyer and tried to get information from them. This guy is a snake, beware!!!!

Reed's firm was good with paperwork; they honored a discount from a referral. However, they made two contacts with the other lawyer without my knowledge or approval. In addition, Stephen sent his associate intern to represent me the very 1st time we went before the judge- without my knowing. This guy was nice but hadn't even reviewed my information and was 'studying' my case in court while waiting. I was mortified and trying to whisper in court to make sure he knew the case well enough. Once I was towards the end of the case and unable to make my first payment after my retainer was expired, he said he wouldn't take my case if I paid him 1million dollars. He is an aggressive lawyer but doesn't have much tact with his clients; at least not with me.
