She was my ex-husband lawyer. Mandell's unethical tactics brought distraction to my ex mainly, that we had to go to court for many years after I filed for sanctions against her and she quit to work for my ex. The mess she created for both of us was so costly. My ex said, "she was a horrible lawyer and I paid her hundreds of thousands dollars."

Totally incompetent representing men in divorce. Past president of the Los Angeles NOW. Still does pro bono work for them. Doesn't even know or care to write a divorce decree and charges by the nanosecond.

Shelly is one of the smartest and honest lawyers I have ever met. She fights for her clients, is loyal and protective. During a very stressful time for me, she was always available on the phone, night or day, and hammered out a very good settlement. Thank you Shelly!

Thanks to Ms. Mandell, who represented me as a father of a one-year-old daughter in divorce proceedings twelve years ago when my wife left and tried to take all my money and all of my time with my daughter away, I am a proud, happy father who has been the most influential person in my child's life. Ms Mandell did a fabulous job and I am grateful to her for her expertice and professionalism. She was not inexpensive, but this is one of those times when you truly get what you pay for. Boycott this woman! She truly is horrid, even the judge said so. She drags out court cases purely for her own fee, pushes the case back to court to make money. After my ex spent well over 70,000 dollars with Shelly the judge ordered a lesser payment than what I was giving her. Save your money, do not believe her lies you will lose with this woman, no doubt! What a horrible lawyer, stay clear from this train wreck!!

Almost two years after my divorce was final, I was served with papers to reopen the property settlement. My attorney wanted another $8,000 to answer the 234 interrogatory questions (35 are allowed), so I went to court and brought two boxes of records, which Mandell copied and turned over to IRS and the Franchise Tax Board, to no result, except for their calls asking me what was going on. When I appeared for the hearing, two women were there from Board of Equalization, also to no end. Shelly was completely unprepared for the hearing, and 45 minutes late, which angered the judge. I put my ex on the stand, and asked her what she wanted that I had, after she admitted that we had split all of our cash, and owned no property. She said "nothing." End of case. It cost my ex $10,000, and she was billed another $18,000, which she refused to pay. At the end of the hearing, I requested, and was given, a restraining order against Shelly, my wife, and her girlfriend .. all lesbians. Nasty.

When initially retained I thought she was sincerely concerned for me...$10K later I realized it was all about the money...They charge by the minute for everything...Her associate attorney and paralegal were rude...She was not prepared when she went to court for me and hadn't even bothered to read my case file until just before we walked into the courtroom. I learned the hard way that you can do better elsewhere for a lot less than what she charged.
