Click to report rating    12/30/09   5     5     5     5     5   I had a car accident with my daughter and we hired Mr. Murphrey to file our claim against the other driver, a delivery guy for a pizza store. We were very satisfied and liked the way Mr. Murphrey handled the case. He is a man with a solid background in law and impressed me as very knowledgeable and professional. He has strong work ethic and treats his clients with respect and compassion. I give him an “A plus” rating. I recommend him to anyone needing help in the areas of law he practices. RID: 25676
Click to report rating    12/13/09   5     5     5     5     5   I am writing in response to the comment posted on 01/16/08. I worked as legal assistant to Mr. Murphrey at that time, and I know that her version of the story was inaccurate. The true facts are part of the public record, which can be retrieved in the case of Joyce O'Day vs. Target, in the Dist. Ct: Target was not responsible for the accident because they had checked the floor 10 minutes before the client slipped, the floor was clean at that time. Mr. M. never withdrew from representing her. Target originally offered $1,000.00. Then, Mr. M. developed the theory that Target was negligent because their floors were too shiny so it's hard to see clear liquid spills. This was how Mr. Murphrey got Target to raise their offer to $50,000.00 Mr. Murphrey and the judge met with our client before trial; the Judge said it would be a mistake to reject the offer of $50,000. I always recommend Mr. Murphrey to my family and friends. He has recovered over a million dollars on several cases. RID: 25211

6/20/08   5     5     5     5     5   I had a car accident in 2001. I had hired another lawyer who worked on my case for 6 months. The insurance company offered $6500 settlement money which to me was very small due to my back pain. As per the advise of a friend, I sought the help of ATTY. THOMAS MURPHREY who studied the case and took it to the court. He also helped me find a back specialist to treat my spine. He obtained a settlement of $177,000.00, giving me a net sum of 121,000.00 after all the medical bills and attorney fees were paid. Mr. Murphrey is a man with great skills, solid integrity and dignity, and most of all, always treats people with respect and kindness. I would definitely recommend Mr. Tom Murphrey to my family and friends. RID: 10432
Click to report rating    1/16/08   1     2     1     1     1   I shattered my kneecap slipping on liquid soap at Target. Mr. Murphrey was referred to me by a lawyer friend of mine. He said he would take my case to court, but the day before the trial he resigned. I was basically forced to settle. Mr. Murphrey was completely overwhelmed by Target's attorney. Halfway through my case, he made me pay up front for all the expenses associated with my case. During a deposition with my surgeon, he didn't even ask decent questions. I began questioning the doctor myself. Thanks to my questioning, Target's offer to me doubled from $25,000 to $50,000 - which is a joke considering the extent of my injury. By this time, I realized I was in big trouble and sought out other lawyers, but I was told that if I fired Mr. Murphrey, he would still get his percentage. Thomas Murphrey is the reason that the legal profession has a bad reputation. RID: 7313
