Dismal lawyer, dishonest, unprofessional. Should not be in the legal profession. No comminicaton, no reciepts for retainer or court fees. Did not forcefully handle our case in court! Scattered and very disorganized. Never returns calls. Paper work was riddled with errors!

Lied to me, did not do what she was supposed to do, and charged me for fixing mistakes HER office made on my divorce forms as well as charging me for the original forms that were messed up. Would strongly recommend staying away from this lady.

do not hire this lawyer. We read the reviews but went with her anyways. She never returns calls, is often out of the office. All she is, is a sales woman.She made us feel good about her in the $100 consultation and then did absolutely nothing of worth. Her assistants were the only ones of use, and even they were crappy. She recommended a PI 'sean diddy' who ripped us off as well, for $600. Id rather have used the money for both these idiots to care for my child I was trying to get visitation with.

I would never recommend this attorney to anyone. Late to court!!! Are you serious?? No communication from her regarding my case and I feel like it was a huge waste of time and resources.

Do Not Hire This Person you will not get what you pay for. She takes people's money does not help them or return their money. The California State Bar is suspending this person for doing this to many people check out the California State Bar and do an Attorney search using her name scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will see all this information.

She is very unorganized, late to court, you don't know what to expect during court. she makes you think you will get your attorney's fee back from the other party. I paid $1800 to retain and was reassured i'd be getting money back in 30-45 days. Never happened, she wanted an additional 1500 to go to prepare for trial, I fired her. Went to trial on my own. I had a friend serve papers, I had point out mistakes in prepared orders and pay for their mistakes. She is a good salesman, for herslf. She files papers, postpones court dates, and keeps billing you for nonsense. Look out if you hire her, I never did get my attorneys fees back, and had to fire her before my case was finished, she refused to stay on my case when i would not pay more money,

I filed for divorce in July 2008, still waiting for her office to finalize it. NEVER returns phone calls and change staff frequently. Postpones court dates and only works on your case if you pay ahead! Word to wise: DO NOT USE, Call another lawyer....I warned you.

Submitted wrong paperwork for my divorce, I waited over a year to get her to finalize my divorce. She makes lots of promises, but does not follow through. I made three trips from oregon to California for court appearances only to find out court had postponed court and she had not informed me???

Very aggressive and bright attorney. I am extremely happy with the work she did on my case and would recommend her without hesitation. I also appreciate her efforts to answer my questions quickly, and recognize that there may be some delays working with a busy attorney. But, I hired her because she is good and aggressive, those types of attorneys will surely always be busy! Thank you Townley law firm!

She is the best attorney I have ever seen. I needed an aggressive attorney and that is why I hired her. She knows the law, and is not afraid to go up against the big boys to fight for her clients. I have been in court with her on at least 6 different days when she was representing me and many other clients, and she seems to win all of the time! I have seen her fight for all of her clients, and she did a great job on my case! I would NEVER hesitate to recommend her to anyone.

I have had Mrs. Townley as my representing lawyer for the past 1 1/2 years. In that time I feel that she has had nothing but my best interest in this case for myself and my daughter. I feel that she has worked hard and diligently on my case, which has not been an easy case (which ones are in family law). I realize how busy and time consuming family law cases can be and although Mrs. Townley represents people both in Shasta and Tehama counties, I have found that she makes the time somehow or communicates to her staff to inform me on any changes or new information from the courts or opposing lawyer. I feel deep down that divorce & family law is what it is and at times can be ugly or unpleasant in dealing with issues. However, Mrs. Townley has always given me the hope & encouragement to believe, be strong and that she is giving her all in my case. I feel that I couldn't have picked a better lawyer to represent my case, she has been 100% committed in representing me.

I was charged $100.00 for consultation and was not given an answer to my question, I was told she would get back to me the following week. Well seven days passed and I called the office and they had no answers for me and said they would call me back. I did not get a return phone call. The total time this attorney spent with me was ten minutes and charged me $100.00. I found a small ad in the 2007-2008 Glenn/Tehama County phone book stating her consultations are free!

This law firm is 1 of the best i've been to. They were in contact with me through every step of my case and handled it in a very professinal manner. As in most cases in law, there is a "winner" and a "loser". I was very happy to win. I've recammended this law firm to many of friends and everyone of them were pleased with the way it was handled by Kathy Townley. I have seen people pay alot more than what Mrs Townely charges and get a lot less. I know people that have hired more than 1 attorney and then went to Mrs townley and she got the job done for them. This lawyer has missed many court appearances, is late with unexecusable lies when late to court. Makes promises she can't keep. And it appears she is under the influence. She is persuasive in believing she knows family law, but she has been wrong on numerous occasions about the law. Lost my child over her failures to appear in court.

Kathy did such a good job with me and on my case. She gave me good and solid advice and was able to argue very complicated legal issues extremely well. My outcome was far better than I had hoped and I owe it to her and her office staff. They all work very hard and are an impressive office.

I am so thankful that I hired Kathy Townley. She handled my case perfectly. She is aggressive, which I needed, strong in court and she fought hard to get me what I deserved. I see now why she is so busy, she is worth the wait! I have never known a lawyer to work as hard for a client, or care as much for their clients. Always easiest to attack the attorney than to take a HARD LOOK at your own behavior and how it contributed to the problems that brought you to the doorstep of the attorney to begin with!!!Family law is the hardest area of law in which to practice. Any attorney courageous enough to step into this forest fire has guts of steel. This bogus lawyerratings website is a perfect example of why these professional "ratings" web sites should be shut down. Anyone can post anything anonymously, make vicious unsubstantiated remarks and do so without any repercussions or consequences. Meanwhile, the victim of the post can only hope web editors are savvy and smart enough to delete any poison left behind. Usually the posts are not deleted. These review sites are worthless except for giving meanspirited hatefilled cowards a chance to vent their spleen. STAY AWAY FROM THESE REVIEW SITES!!!
