My experience with Mr. Hunter was terrible. In my opinion, he will squeeze every last cent from you. He personifies everything wrong with family lawyers. And frankly I would not be surprised if he's writing his own positive reviews.

Do NOT go To this Lawyer unless you are planning on spending A LOT of Money and getting no help. He will never tell you his bill until it is too late and expect tens of thousands of dollars for absolutely no work. He should be an actor not a lawyer.

Greedy and underhanded. When I attempted to threaten to sue, he tried to trick me into signing a release. People like this prove the LSUC is a joke when it comes to regulating the profession.

Tom made a series of egregious strategic blunders in my case and gave advice that was, in retrospect, utterly naive and disastrous. Some highlights: encouraged me to self-represent, claiming self-reps treated sympathetically by court (nonsense; judges resent self-reps and ignore their legal arguments); encouraged me to submit massive volume of material to interim motion, causing fury from judge on this basis alone; told me my settlement offer was "extremely cost-protective" when in fact (in retrospect, with knowledge) it was silly and I ended up paying $20,000 in costs for a simple interim motion; encouraged me to reject a settlement offer that, in retrospect, would have saved me $100,000 or more; was utterly naive about the schemes being pursued by opposing lawyer and said "you can't worry about their case, only your own." He tried to charge me $20,000 merely for background "support" on a motion I self-repped. I sued and got back half. Well-meaning man but utterly incompetent.

Thoms did a good job to start, but almost missed a critical court date that i just happened to call about. I was dropped after his billings suddenly started running in-explicably up, and he dropped me. I was then left to go it alone and got slaughtered. Lost everything, kids agian, in-explicably thrown into supervised access (beware of Ron Stewart family reports), house taken, and myself forced into bankrupcy, which didn't cause FRO from still trying to throw me in jail. A nightmare that still continues.
