Hiring Richard poland was a nightmare. This attorney ripped us off $17,865. Richard promised my husband he would get off on a assult charge. My husband was innocent. My husband had proof of his innocense. We told Poland to look into it. He never did. Poland did not cross examine the witnesses the way he should of or the law enforcement. My Husband had no priors. He told my husband to plead guilty and he would get probation. He did not prepare my husbands case. Poland just rushed through it the day of the trial. Poland told my husband plea guilty and you will get probation. My husband got sentenced to 20 years. For the money we paid poland he didn't do anything to help my husband. I should of fired him. Poland should not be practicing law. The reviews that i read are false. If you look at the dates of the reviews. You could see there reviews poland had someone write on his behalf.Find another attorney. Poland has no clue on how to practice law. Poland ripped us off!

I had a PC422 terrorist threats case pending and I was terrified. Right from the beginning Mr. Poland assured me that the police did not have a viable case against me. I was not so sure. He has so much experience and is supremely qualified. He has gotten my case dismissed. I can get on with my life now. My Poland has been a blessing for my family.

My daughter ran a red light and had an accident where someone was killed. She had too much to drink. She had just turned 21 and made the sort of mistake that ruins lives. The case was in Orange County and everyone said she had to go to prison. She was a college student athlete and had lived a very good life until she made a very stupid mistake. Mr. Poland told us the facts and didn't sugar coat them. He told us he would keep plugging until he found someone to give her probation. He said it would be difficult but he thought it was not impossible. We had at least 10 court appearances and at every opportunity he tried for probation. The DA was adamant about prison because it's their policy to give prison when a death occurs in a accident where alcohol is involved. Each judge that Mr. Poland spoke too was unwilling to go against the DA. He was able to get someone to see that my daughter didn't belong in prison. She got county jail time. We wanted no jail at all, but there WAS a death.

When we first found out my loved one, who is very young and had no criminal record, was going to need a lawyer none of us knew what was going to happen. When the family found Richard Poland everyone was still in shock, unsure of what came next. Rich explained everything every step of the way in language we could all understand. There was no grandstanding or trying to use legal terms none of us knew. He was clear and direct, letting us know what to expect and why he was doing certain things. He never made empty promises and was very clear about what my nephew was facing. When we saw him in action in the court he was assured without being cocky and was obviously at ease and confident. Richard Poland is a knowledgeable and competent attorney. Just check his bar record ( I did!) 35 years without a complaint. Additionally, his many years of practice have rendered him not only knowledgeable of the law itself but of local courts, including the DA’s and judges. He has a real feel for reading a situation and advising his clients appropriately for their unique circumstances. In our experience he is by far the most attentive trial lawyer we’ve encountered and he does truly have a heart. Rich has always been there throughout our family’s a lengthy court trials. He communicates clearly, is readily available and has a great bilingual support staff. I wish we’d never been in a situation where we had to get to know him, but since we did, I am grateful for all he’s done for our family. We highly recommend him should you find yourself in need of quality legal representation.

I would recommend Mr.Poland to my friends and family. Rich Poland was upfront and honest with me and my spouse from day one. No B.S. from Rich Poland ! His greatest asset (in my opinion) was his 35+ years of being a criminal-lawyer, mostly in my hometown of Long Beach, Ca. Mr. Poland and his staff communicated well, and they always had answers for our many, many questions. My spouse and I are very satisfied with the way Mr. Poland handled our case, and how he interacted with us. We also found his fees to be reasonable.

I've worked with various attorneys over my lifetime and I have to say that Rich Poland by far has been the best. He is knowledgeable in his area of expertise, hard working and gave my case his full attention. Rich really cares about his clients. We hired Mr. Poland and were very impressed with his work. He did everything and saved us a lot of worry and stress. This was the first time we ever needed an attorney and we are thankful that we found Mr. Poland. His fees were reasonable which was important for us. We would definitly recommend Mr. Poland.

This attorney has no fight in him. All Poland wants to do is take your money and get the trial over with. Poland can't defend a fly. When it comes to defending you he takes your money and does a horrible job. My fiance was sentenced to 10 years. It was to late to hire another attorney. We spent our life savings. We should of hired a public defender in training he would of done a better job. This attorney needs to go back to law school and learn how to defend his clients. He sent me a bill 3 days later stating I owe him 8,000. I already paid him for his services. Beware hire someone else. Bad attorney!

I ran across this site and I'm glad I did! Poland does not return calls he is very flakey and very unprofessional. He has a secretary very nice women but she will give you the runaround telling you he's not in his office call later. My brother not only received 14 years and 8 months for his first offense but what get's me is how poland lied and said my brother will receive probation and not to worry. My brother had a witness that would clear my brother from charges. Poland told my brother theres no time and hurryed and got my brother a speedy trial. After hearing my brothers sentence I was crying and poland instead of comforting me tells me that we owe him $4600 it was $1100 past the retainer. Poland doesn't care about his clients he's all about "Show me the money"

A one is way to high of a rating for this attorney. He's located at 333 West Brodway near the Long Beach Courts. He comes off nice at first but once he get's a hold of your money everything goes down hill from there. He railroaded my husband! Malpractice was involved. He sold my husband out to the police and the DA since he's buddy buddy with all of them. My husband should of received 2-4 years. $30,000 equals a 20 year sentence that's what my husband got. Poland told my husband he would only serve one year and win on an appeal. My husbands been in for 8 years. He is the worst attorney. All he's good for is ticket pushing. We told poland what we wanted done he ignored what we told him to do. My husband would only be serving 2-4 years. He ruined my husbands life! If you want your husband to serve time and you want to throw your money away then Poland's the one for you!You've been warned!
