HORRIBLE! RUN AWAY!! Ms Schauf is the most condescending. arrogant, rude and unethical lawyer I've ever dealt with! I can't even begin to explain how awful she was. I wouldn't even wish her on my ex! She charges a flat fee by claiming how she can do so much more for you than any other lawyer can and the flat fee will save you money. Except she does NOTHING. She won't answer or return calls or emails. She doesn't advocate for you. She forwards your emails directly to your ex's lawyer which is unethical and a break of attorney-client privilege. We went to mediation and she was late and didn't even know who I was or the details of my case. She works from home and her office is open, so you hear her talking trash loudly about other clients while you sit there waiting. I see that she's be disciplined by the state licensing authority finally. Frankly I don't know how she got away without a one for this long!

DO NOT USE THIS ATTORNEY! You will be extremely disappointed! When you first meet with her she will tell you that she's so much better than any other attorney in Tucson and she'll do so much more for you. She will justify why her prices are way higher than any other attorney. I paid her over $5500.00,in a "flat fee"and I got absolutely nothing in return but email correspondence back-and-forth with her. (yes, she charged me for each and every single email) she was so horrible that I actually went and found another attorney that completely saved my whole entire divorce. She's completely condescending when she talks to you AND extremely rude. We went to court and she didn't even know what was going on she completely confused everybody and it was horribly embarrassing. Trust me read the reviews on this lady google search her and follow it! People have completely had their life destroyed because of this horrible lady!

Attorney susan schauf helped me finally bring a 6 year divorce process to closure. As I was an out-of-state client, she made every effort to keep me involved and always had my best interest at heart. susan was faced with a very difficult case and she handled it like a champ. Not only did susan handle my divorce successfully she also dealt with the relocation of my children since my ex had me served and used jurisdiction to keep the kids in Arizona when we lived in Idaho. Susan did amazing at both trials and was very knowledgeable and also very well known and respected in the court room. Other than the 2 trials there were a couple hearings that she arranged a telephonic appearance since was in a different state. I would definitely recommend susan as an attourney she is amazing! Thank you susan for all that you did. I am writing this review even before the judge makes his ruling because susan faught hard and never gave up on me on this difficult case . Thank you!

Do NOT hire this attorney.She is unprofessional,incompetent and unresponsive.She sent me an email from my ex's attorney.She wrote the following,"For your information.Please review and advise as soon as possible.Deadline of Feb.17th is set forth below in the email." We had 5 days to respond.I called her office a day later.She was agitated that I called and told me that she had not even looked at the divorce documents yet.She emailed me twice requesting that I provide documents-all of which I previously provided.On Feb 26, Ms.Schauf emailed me stating that she would "address my remaining concerns next week".Over 2 months passed with no contact from Ms. Schauf-either to me or to my ex's attorney, who tried to contact her repeatedly.I contacted her secretary in April via phone.I was told that she was reviewing the documents and would contact me.I waited a few more weeks, then terminated our contract, leaving me with no legal counsel and out $3500 with absolutely nothing to show for it.

She never reviewed my case and complained my file was too thick. She was very unprofessional with no people skills. She never became familiar with my case. When we went to court she never disclosed my medical condition which I repeatedly told her to turn in. The judge found out on her own that she never disclosed the info and was shocked. The few times I called to talk on the phone she was very rude/unavailable. She used unprofessional language trying to get my ex and I to agree on a settlement because she was so unprepared. After the proceedings she was very angry with me because the judge scolded her because she didn't disclose all the paperwork she should have. When we got out of court she was very angry with me and yelled things we're going to go worse for me and she wouldnt do another thing til she received more money tho I gave her full payment. She works from home and you can hear her speaking to clients and she's very rude to them. When she hangs up she makes fun of the people.

Please find a different lawyer. This woman "nice" until she gets her money. she did absolutely NOTHING in my divorce/custody case. She is very rude and not compassionate at all. She yelled at me twice for questioning the direction she was taking my case.

PLEASE!! FIND ANOTHER LAWYER! I paid Ms. Schauf over $7000. Only for her to show up on the DAY of my divorce mediation to ask me what my name was again, and then have a very nasty attitude when I tried to jog her memory. I paid you all that money and YOU GET HERE AND DON'T EVEN KNOW MY NAME? We get in mediation and she is telling me to agree with joint custody (Me not knowing AZ loves joint custody because she never mentioned it) I pulled her out of the mediation room to say "What are you doing? We never discussed sharing joint custody!" My ex wife cried and got off the hook again, and as prepared as my case was for me to receive sole custody of my kids, our situation is still the same. My ex shares joint custody legally and is still out of the picture so daddy has had to suck it up. Thanks Susan... We got into an argument early on because she got upset that I wouldn't bring her more money. That upset me so I asked for my deposit back and she yelled saying "No! you can't have it back."

I'm not sure what some of the below individuals are talking about... Ms Schauf handled my paternity suit as well as I could have imagined. She posed tough, realistic questions, preparing me fully for my testimony and cross examination by the respondent's counsel, which undoubtedly contributed to our success. Every time we met at the courtroom, she came prepared, and she fought tooth and nail for me once inside. If you want a pushover attorney who will just tell you what you want to hear, go somewhere else. Hiring Ms Schauf is one of the best decisions I have made in my entire life.

Client Review:
I truly wish I had read all these awful reviews about Ms. Schauf prior to paying her nearly $6,000. Apparently I'm not the only person who realized too late she is a terrible lawyer. Basically she took my hard earned money, did next to nothing for me, became angry when I question why she needed more money, and terminated our contract, which means I now have to hire another lawyer because my divorce was never finalized.

Total waste of money. Constantly will speak down to you and scold you as if you were a child. I hate calling there because of the way I am treated. Never seems to have any idea what is going on in the case. Is horrible with communication. She will at times email back, but never really answer your very direct questions. Find someone else! Every attorney can act like they care, they are great at putting on a show. Don't make the mistake I have and find someone with the track record, not just how they look on years of experience and degrees.

She only has an impressive resume, but the personality and the work etiquette are not remarkable at all. I regret to hire her as she didn't do her job as I was expected from a long term practicing attorney at law. It was clearly waist of my money, time and energy. I didn't feel that she was acting at the best of my interest. I didn't know at that time that in the state of Arizona everything in divorce is 50/50 after over 10 years of marriage. She don't explained anything to me and used demanding language in the communication. I would not recommend her to anybody, so don't be fooled by her website.

Susan will nickel and dime you every second she can.I'd like to mention how unprofessional it was that repeatably she raised her voice to me. She has some serious control issues. I realize that your suppose she is suppose to be giving people legal advice but does it really have to be condescending when your telling them? I felt like a little kid when I talked to her and that just isn't right. What terrible customer service. I'm surprised she is still in business.So obviously I'm not the only one with the problem. It's just as he described it. I mean, what attorney has an office in their house. I almost didn't show up for my appointment the first time when I realized it was a residential neighborhood but I gave her the benefit of the doubt.And then just like the guy above said how her kids and dog are constantly interrupting you. I fired this lawyer due to her poor performance at the start of my divorce where my ex was suing me for spousal maintenance after a failed 2 year marriage. Ms. Schauf advised me that this was NOT a case for spousal maintenance due to the very short duration of the marriage, but she failed to mention that I could be liable during the divorce for TEMPORARY maintenance (which later cost me over $4,000). Had I known that important detail I would have opted for mediation rather than litigation. She was routinely late for our meetings at her office (I spent many hours (yes, hours) waiting in her lobby), and when she finally saw me, our time was usually interrupted by her personal business (her kids). Later, she arrived unprepared at my settlement conference because she had failed to read the critical information I had provided her earlier. Ms. Schauf billed me $2,500 in legal fees over a 2-month period with very little to show for it. I should have fired her sooner.
