When you go to Lisa, you really need to be prepared. You are getting a terrific package but one you need to adapt to: an honest person who will tell you what you need to hear and not necessarily what you want to hear, honest in billing and affordable. You will need to read carefully every document. If there are issues, YOU will need to catch them. The same goes for everything she prepares. She is eager to settle, so she will be eager to give you a worst case scenario to make you settle. As long as you do the conversion you will be fine. If there are financial issues, hire your own forensic accountant. BUT she is fabulous in negotiations. She is a miracle worker in getting the judge to refuse to see the parties on account of being very busy (because she has a reputation of settling). She thinks quickly on her feet and adapts well to situations on the ground. She can be strong willed but overall good value.

Hired Hernandez for a divorce. She did a great "sales pitch" when I interviewed her. She openly admitted that opposing council was going to be aggressive and will "make it harder than it has to be". She knew what she was up against. Temporary Hearing. A train wreck. Opposing council was organized and executed his plan perfectly. Hernandez was unprepared and had no game plan. I had supplied her with documentation to counter opposing council. She never presented it. Following day I asked her why. She said she "could not do that to another woman". Well, she had no problem doing it to me. She also told my adult kids that "this divorce will probably wipe me out". I fired her. Hired a competent firm. Ultimately. I was back in my home in two months. Got sole custody of my daughter. Achieved a fair division of property. I want my money back.

Knows her stuff - like the other poster, she got us what we wanted, she is very straightforward and doesn't make idle promises. If she advises you to do something, do it. We trusted her on one issue even though we weren't certain and she was dead-on - saved us thousands. If you are going through a divorce, she (or someone from her firm) is the attorney to have in Collin County. One complaint is that she didn't stay in touch as much as we would have liked, but when it came crunch time, she was there. Very sharp, goes straight to the heart of the matter. Worth every penny.

I recommend this attorney to anyone who is going through a divorce or seeking a change in custody of your child(ren). We met several attorneys who refused to take our case. She not only took our case, but got us EVERYTHING we asked for. It took awhile, that is how it goes when dealing with custody issues, but we have gotten everything we wanted. She truly cares for her clients. If you are good to her and you pay her the way you agreed to, she is GREAT to you. She is worth every penny we spent. She is an honest attorney, which is very difficult to come by. She is very straight forward too, which I value. Keep your lines of communication open with her and she will work with you. My only "helpful hint" is when emailing her, ask 1 question at a time, wait for an answer, then ask another. Too many questions in one email can keep them from getting answered. She keeps in touch with you and I love that. She was worth the drive from Plano.
