Very money hungry, acts like he cares but only cares about billable hours, him and his son a very new lawyer, they will use you for your talents in trade and still bill you over and above what it should cost, will ask you for rides and bill you for it, will string out your case if he knows there is money to be had at the end of all of your frustration , your simple court proceedings will cost your more than if you had a million in the bank if you want a good assessment call other attorneys around town and they will give you the full rundown. I would do my homework before hiring this firm get a written estimate signed by anyone representing you from this firm and make sure you tell him to be on time, remind him of court dates and if he brings anyone to court with him you will get double billed! And pay for services one lawyer could do on his own at 400 an hour.

Howard and Justin Van Den Heuvel are sharp, well spoken lawyers with keen minds. I hired them in mid 2015 all way up until just about the end of the year, so I had the pleasure of spending quite a lot of time with them in a variety of legal settings. They were kind and personable, but ruthlessly fought for what was fair and for the rights of me and my child. They were prompt to respond to my communications, and had the experience to correctly anticipate what tricks the opposing counsel would try and pull. They were always ready to utilize what seemed to be veritable tomes of law information between them. They were invaluable to me, and I would definitely recommend them.

Amazing Attorneys I would look no further, I am with them all the way.
From the original consult to the time in office to the time in court. They continued to exceed my expectations. When i first came to them I was in a whirlwind of chaos almost immediately was put at peace by the consult alone. Were the peace continued throughout the process. I'm finding it hard to put into words how great from start to finish my business with them has been. I will highly recommend them to everyone I meet. they are an A+++ If your reading this and you need an Attorney take my word for it THESE ARE YOUR GUYS. They set a standard for me that I don't believe I could find anywhere else I'm finally at peace.

Howard and his associates represented us in a child custody case. We searched and searched for the attorney that will make sure our son had the best possible outcome and Howard and his associates delivered beyond our expectations. He represented us professionally and aggressively. Howard takes the time to get to know his clients and his knowledge of custody laws and the court system were a huge advantage for us. Well worth the reasonable rates he charges. We could not be more pleased with his services. Thank you, Howard.

I don't even know where to start about this . I am 100 percent certain that the good reviews written are by him. He is extremely nice and caring before you hire him. Then, you hear nothing back. If we didn't remind him about our deadlines, he would never have remembered anything. He totally lost our court case. He doesn't know answers to basic legal questions. Google was better. He assured us of many things and NONE of those things were accurate or true. We would have been more successful (and more wealthy) without any lawyer at all. The bills he sends are crap. When you call him out, he changes his story ten times and then insults you. He is a deceitful, lying, money and power hungry man who I wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy. He has made our life complete hell at a time that we were already dealing with a life changing and stressful situation. His staff are his family members who are blatantly rude, short, careless, and dishonest. Please stay away from this horrible man.

Howard worked on a corporate case for me and handled by angry employee for me. After his great work on the case, I retained him to advise my business going forward.

Would NEVER use Howard again. Communication was zip. I assume someone has his attention, but it wasn't me. If I didn't stay on him my case would have missed many deadlines. Do yourself a favor. Find someone else.

I thought Mr. Howard Van Den Heuvel went above and beyond my case. He is a very determined lawyer who sees the situation through to the end. I am most happy with the outcome of my case. Howard is very personable and I recommend him to any person - Howard is really knowledgeable when it comes to legal matters!

The bar association referred me to Mr. Van den heuvel. I was told the initial meeting would cost me $20, no one said that was for the first 30 minutes. I was going to hire him and gave a retainer check dated the following day, when service was to start. Within 1-1/2 hrs I called and left a message that I would not in fact need his service. Stopped by his office later (3:30pm) and no one was there so left another message. Called the next day and spoke to him, was told he would hold the check in case I changed my mind. Over a week later I get a call from him telling me I owe him $155 for his time. What? He says the meeting went 34 minutes over the agreed 30 minute time. After I had proof it didn't, he changed his story several times: they set their clocks ahead, oh then it was because he had to set up a file even though in our meeting he said it wouldn't be done until the next day (does it take 34 minutes to set up a file?). In my opinion he is deceitful. Would not recommend him.

Very inconsistant with his knowledge about law ("I will have to research that")is his favorate line. Is extremely concerned about his billable minutes. Communication is extremely poor, and does not defend his clients with any type of tenacity.

His only concern is getting paid for the hour. Does not bother about aggressively representing the client and thier views. Spends lot of time talking and discussing the same matter giving you the same view again and again and then billes you for telling you the same thing.
