John Ray is the "BEST" not sure why there are so many negative comments on this man. He is extremely knowledgeable and always very attentive to all of our needs and questions. He even gave us his personal cell phone number so we could always get ahold of him at any time no extra charge. What other lawyer would do that? I can not thank this man enough for what he did for me and my family. We now have our grandchildren back thanks to John Ray. I would highly recommend John Ray for any of your legal needs. If I could give him 100 stars I would.

DO NOT under any circumstance hire attorney JOHN RAY. He seems confused and agitated. Never returned my phone calls. His staff is rude disorganized and cant get legal papers filed on time

I lost everything since hiring him. He billed me for things he never did. Told me I had a stipulation and had to keep him on. I never signed a contract. Once he heard i had money being held, he falsified things he never did in order to try to get access to my money. If you have time and MONEY to blow hes the one. Its one yr. As I mentioned not one thing I asked of him was done. I spoke to him a total of 4x and 2 was because I called his cell. BEWARE!, Keep all emails as proofs. And dont forget the BAR association that looks into the behavior of lawyers like Joh Ray.

Do yourself a favor and hire another firm, no matter your circumstances! They are oh too happy to take your money and keep taking at every turn. They will adjourn and postpone court dates in order to continue billing you for services. Both attorneys talk a big game, with no results to back it up. They are unnecessarily confrontational and aggressive and seem to be more concerned with their appearances then their results. They will charge for every single character written in a text message and then condescendingly inform you 'how great of a deal you are getting'. There were multiples parties in the case I needed them for and the other parties ended up paying less than one tenth of what this firm charged for the same exact appearances and results. Legitimately they only care if you are going to get them on the news and are horrendous about returning calls and communicating. Go elsewhere for better more professional results at a fraction of the cost.

I do not know where to start with the praise for Mr John Ray and the associates of his firm-they are just incredible. Mr Ray helped me in litigation thru my divorce and child custody matters. He and his team are incredibly professional, attentive, detail oriented, smart and also sensitive, caring and understanding of the emotional aspect of family law and litigation. I can never thank Mr Ray enough for what he has done for me and he will get style points for being the best dressed lawyer in the New York! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Anyone who hires Mr Ray will be lucky to have him as their attorney.

PLEASE WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT HIRE HIM. You will regret it. He will not pay any attention to your case and will bill you at his rate even though he has a full staff. He does not return phone calls. His staff will ask you to do something then say they are only passing along the message. He charged me a large retainer ($1200) in what should have been a very simple case and I got further with another lawyer in 2 weeks for $350 than 4 months with $1200.00. He puts on a good show but does not deliver and gets annoyed when you ask for updates. Unless you are a millionaire with some sort of murder case that will get him publicity (that's all he cares about) don't even bother. He will take your money then make you feel like the sh** at the bottom of his shoe. DO NOT BE FOOLED; nobody takes him seriously such as other lawyers, the police, or the judges. Do yourself a favor and really do your research before hiring ANY LAWYER.

He has you write a big check with scare tactics and then turns his back, padding fees, he even charges to read a text firing him because he wouldn't take a phone call.

I had a case going on for 3 Years and had been using a legal aid and a privately paid lawyer which did close to nothing. In one day in court as my lawyer this man got the case thrown out. An absolute amazing man and more amazing lawyer that I would recommend to anyone with on going legal or family issues. He is the best lawyer on long island in my opinion.

After requiring a over inflated retainer for work never required John Ray himself refused to return a portion of the retainer. Any possible charges were dropped no court appearances were necessary and only 2 phone calls were made by Mr. Ray to a Detective assigned to the case. In may opinion Mr. Ray couldn't have dedicated more than 5 hours of work in respect to this case. Yet he kept the full amount of the retainer that was in excess of $9,999. As well as ignoring several requests for an itemized bill of charges.
