Jo Ann is a very good lawyer. My experience with Jo Ann was in regards to a very difficult divorce case with 2 children involved. She was there with quick helpful input to calm the most stressful circumstances during the twists and turns of a 4.5 year divorce. Jo Ann stayed with the case an additional 2 years helping me get sole custody. It was a monumental task given the difficulties faced but she did it! Every step of the way, Jo Ann was reassuring and right about what to do, what the future looked like but keeping to the facts of what is known and what is unknown. Divorce is expensive and that is the well known. This divorce was very difficult and drawn out as mentioned earlier in this review. Jo Ann was fair and understanding to my financial limitations and got the job done for me and my kids. Thanks to Jo Ann, my kids are with me and we are all moving on with our new norm. Thank you Jo Ann.

I met with JoAnn Coughtry to file a separation agreement. My husband and I had already discussed the terms of the separation and had agreed on what we wanted it to look like. We did not want courts to dictate what we felt were life decisions. JoAnn not only provided the agreement that we were seeking, but she was the only attorney out of several that I contacted that listened to what I wanted and did not try to steer me away from being reasonable and fair in the process. She offered suggestions and clarifications but respected what I wanted as a client. I would highly recommend JoAnn. Her responses to inquiries were timely and she completed everything I requested in a timely manner. Most importantly, she listened and responded to what I wanted.

The ratings above come up short, Good does not convey the degree of satisfaction I experienced with Jo Ann Coughtry. I recommend Excellent be the descriptive for a 5 rating. Mrs. Coughtry has been a tireless and selfless champion representing me in my divorce and pursuit of the best interest of my children. My 2+ year divorce has been one for the record books and at no time did Jo Ann step away from any legal challenge or waiver in her commitment.I faced every false allegation and legal challenge a father can face in a contested custody divorce, several times. If you are a parent (and especially a loving father) who doesn't want to get pushed out of your children's lives and railroaded by a court system that is typically sympathetic and gender biased towards mothers REGARDLESS of their personal character, parenting skills, emotional or mental health Don't give up! Just hire Jo Ann Coughtry, her professional conduct, knowledge, commitment, and legal execution is exemplary!!

I retained Jo Ann in Feb of 2014 and am currently still using Jo Ann to complete the remainder of my settlement. Jo Ann has been up front and honest with me throughout the process. She cares about the best interest of myself and my children which is most important. I have had no unfair or undocumented billings thus far and if I have needed to work through payments, I have been given the opportunity to do so. Furthermore, there is no price to high when determining the best interests of your children. I have been very pleased thus far and have no reason to believe I will fell any differently once the case has been settled and closed.

I hired JoAnn to settle my divorce. I was very disappointed primarily in her billing practices. At the end, the divorce cost me almost $30,000! She billed for reviewing things that she never reviewed, does not remember important information (was in the first paragraph of a letter) and charged me for emails, letters, etc., that were never sent. I asked her to file for attorney fees several times and she never did. I would not recommend her. Go to a mediator instead if possible. THey are alot cheaper and you will get the same, if not better results.

I retained Mrs. Coughtry for my divorce. I originally had a different attorney who I was not happy with. I was worried because my divorce was not going well. Mrs. Coughtry was recommended to me and I met with her for a second opinion. After meeting with her and her explaining the law to me and explaining my rights I discharged my original attorney and retained Mrs. Coughtry. She turned my case around very quickly. She always made herself available and returned my calls the same day. I am very satisfied with my divorce settlement. Mrs. Coughtry was the right attorney for me. I would recommend her over and over again.

My biggest issue with this person was complete non-communication. I called her office many times and it was literally months before she would get back to me. (Although once, she charged $50 for a one-word email reply.) Choosing this person as counsel significantly prolonged my case, and routine matters were like pulling teeth. Due to poor book-keeping by her office, I slightly overpaid my account. When I requested the return of the funds, she threatened me and I still have not received my money. This was dishonest, and left a very bad impression. I do not recommend this person, unless you have a lot of money to throw at her, and really do not care if you get a resolution to your situation.
