I've never seen work done this badly. So many documents wrong, filings wrong and lost documents, emails, phone messages, it goes on. Very unprofessional in all respects. All this mess makes her work very expensive, in addition to just plain bad. A very bad choice

i spent 35 thou here in 4 months to get my heroin addict abusive husband divorced and to take custody of our child. I got 50/50 and i am a stand up citizen with no priors or drug abuse... her billing was redic and when they messed up major things in the paperwork like my exhusband's name or that they attached a child support worksheet (that was never done) i called to get it taken off my bill which they did after much hesitation, but then added the cost of the conversation back to the bill and additional costs for sending out the corrected bill. they took off 90 and added 70 back... do not believe what they tell you about what they expect your outcome to be esp since theyll say they never said that once you get screwed in court. we had a great case and they dropped the ball big time.

Now that my divorce is finalized, I can honestly say that I was fortunate to have such an excellent attorney on my side. Ms. Held did everything to ensure a smooth, fair, and equitable divorce. She explained every detail, answered questions, and genuinely cared about the outcome of my divorce, both in present time and preparing for the future. She was enthusiastic but realistic. She was willing to meet in person, talk by telephone, or communicate by e-mail based on my preference. The total cost for my divorce was considerably less than expected. For service I received, I would have expected and would have been willing to pay more. I honestly cannot name a single aspect of my divorce that I wished had been handled differently.
I provide my absolute highest recommendation for Ms. Held and would recommend her to my closest friends or family without hesitation. Her communication skills, enthusiasm, personality, and services are clearly well above and beyond that of her colleagues.

I would definitely recommend Margaret Held. She is caring and hard-working. She and her staff always kept me informed of what was going on with my case. She tried to use techniques that would save me money in the long run. I used her in my divorce and child custody case.

I used Ms.Held to fix what another lawyer messed up. She is very knowledgable and was very truthful and up front about what my expectations of my case should be. She responded to all of my questions in a timely manner and I feel like she fought hard for me and my children.

We've used other attorneys to handle my Divorce case in the past and we are glad that we have found someone we are comfortable with, who is hard worker, honest and does a great job. Mrs. Held seems to listen and understand the case more and we believe that she is more capable in handling our matters. We really have enjoyed meeting with her and feel grateful for the way she's handled our case. We highly recommend her.

Margaret took on my very complicated child custody case. It spewed over state lines and consumed two years of my life. Margaret has had to improvise many times to get things done, but just this past summer she won my kids back for me. She knows her stuff and if she doesn't she's not afraid to ask for help. She's got a great team backing her and she has a never say die attitude. I was very lucky when she took my case on. She's honest, fair, hardworking, and competent. She conscious of how much clients money she's spending and always trying to save. Margaret is an awesome attorney.

Margaret Held represented me in a difficult child custody case (grandchild) that, due to my former lawyer's gross incompetence, had already went on for far too long. During my consultation Ms. Held went over the details of my case and possible outcomes. She took the time to make sure I understood everything. I hired her on the spot. Soon after she began to subpoena records that would prove pivotal in the defendant’s agreement to allow me to obtain full custody. Held Law Firm kept me informed on everything that was happening through out the case and was a phenomenal steward of my retainer fee. When the case was closed the unused portion of the retainer was refunded. I largely contribute the outcome of my case to her hard work and diligence. I highly recommend Margaret Held and her assistant Jason. I hope I never need legal representation again, but if I do, I know exactly who to turn to!

I didn't even know such lawyers were around anymore. Ms. Held and her staff are exceptional people. I had really been ripped off by my first lawyer in my divorce, but Ms. Held and her staff were a God send. I can never say enough, except I appreciate every thing they are doing for people. They do what they say and are honest with you upfront. That is unique for a lawyer in today's times.

Margaret is my angel. She helped me to regain full custody of my child and she helped to give me my life back. I felt hopeless and like I was trapped in a never-ending nightmare before I was finally referred to Margaret. She is intelligent, driven, moral, knows the law, and will fight for you. I called around to different lawyers before I contacted Ms.Held's office. Some of the other lawyers wanted insane amounts of money up front because it was going to be a contested divorce. I was unsure of what to think of Ms. Held not offering free consultations, because I was afraid to get ripped off. I have to say that my consultation fee was money well spent. Ms. Held was able to work with my ex's lawyer and she turned my highly contested divorce into an agreed one and saved me more than money. She saved me my sanity. One more thing I'd like to add. If you fear the truth and don't like to be told how things really are, she may not be the lawyer for you. She is refreshingly honest and very direct. If she's feels that you have unrealistic expections of your case she'll tell you and not even mince words. I feel very lucky to have had her represent me.

I rated Held Law firm a 5 in all catagories because of thier knowledge, dedication and persistance. They are very friendly as well. They returned my calls quickly, answered my questions with honesty and went out of thier way to keep my bill low, going so far as to telling me what things I could do myself to save me money.

I had one of the types of cases where everything takes a really long time. That's to be expected when you have a workplace discrimination lawsuit. Ms. Held was upfront about how long my case could take to go through the courts. This is in stark contrast to another lawyer who promised me it would only take a couple of weeks. Yeah, right. After months of waiting, I fired him and hired Held Law Firm. My case did take awhile because of the courts and dealing with the EEOC, but the Held law firm staff was made sure to give me weekly updates. Eventually it was settled out of court because of the overwhelming evidence I was able to aquire, and the great investigative work of the firm's staff. I hope I never have to go through this again, but God forbid that I do, I know who to hire.

She cost me less than my previous attorney, she did more work than my previous attorney and she helped me through the most heart wrenching time in my life. She went above and beyond in getting my problem fixed. If it wasn't for her I would have went nuts. THANK YOU SO MUCH! My whole family loves you, and you will always be in our hearts.
