Ralph Kerns gives attorneys a bad name. He behaves unprofessionally, I had charges on my bill unrelated to my case, and he was belligerent many times.
During meetings at his office, he would take personal calls, but still bill me for the time.
When it came to the trial, Ralph was completely unprepared. The night before, he requested I bring print outs of all the details; he couldn't find his. All paperwork I had originally given to him.
He billed me for over 20 hours of trial preparation. None of the people who were witnesses for me, were ever interviewed or deposed.
When it came time to settle the bill I asked for an itemized breakdown of the charges. Ralph couldn't provide the information, instead he acted out like a hurt teenager, acting unprofessionally and making threats against me if I didn't pay.
I eventually agreed to settle on a lower amount; a fact which tells me he was bluffing and knew he had no legal case for the charges he was billing.

Didn't communicate court dates until last minute. Refused to work out payment plan. Threatened to sue me when amounts didn't get paid in full. Buddies up with other lawyers and drives up bill over bogus work. Works at the pace of a snail. Allows everyone else to call the shots. I'm almost $8000 in now, 1.5 years without much results.

I was very dissatisfied with the legal representation that I received from Mr.Kerns. He failed to be on time for appointments and did not complete due diligence on my case. His follow-through was poor. He led me down a long road just to increase his fees. He talks a good talk but beware of this attorney!

I would never recommend this law firm.They got my retainer fee and always changing the lawyer assigned to me. Never returned my calls. I requested all my papers and my retainer to be returned to me. They lost all my papers and refused to return my retainer. Did absolutely nothing for me and very rude people.

Overpriced and underperformed. spent a lot of time talking and not enough time fighting on my behalf. admonished by the judge multiple times. promised results without delivering. VERY EXPENSIVE! another attorney accomplished in two weeks what he could not accomplish in six months

When we hired him for custody issues he promised us things. He handed our case over to one of his associates. Our first hearing was awful because our representative had a death in the family so Ralph Kerns had to step in for her and he showed up late and charged us his fee instead of her fee. His fee was 100.00 more an hour. He did not do anything for us and it seemed like our case went nowhere. They have continously messed our billing up which then because of that put a 30 day late on our credit and turn us over to a collection agency. I would not use them represent my dog. So unsatisfied.

I used this attorney for my divorce. I have to agree with others who provided feedback on this law firm. They tell you exactly what you want to hear but never the truth. They had me believing I had a strong case and I lost everything and I had to fight with my own attorneys who did nothing but rack up the bill. I ultimately had to fire them. His office is very disorganized, I was told he would handle my case when I insisted on him doing so but he never did and I constantly had to remind him and resend him emails of things we discussed. I was charged again for all of them. The attorney Elizabeth Werner who he assigned to me was always having personal issues and I did not feel she had my best interest in mind. As if my divorce wasnt a stressful enough experience it was really sad to feel my attorneys were on my exhusbands side during the whole thing and I felt like they took complete advantage of my vunerable state. please be careful with this firm.

Very disorganized office. Didn't do anything beyond what you could buy in a divorce kit.Never proposed options or any real advice. Very routine and they still couldn't get it right. Charges differed from what I was told.Wish I had checked this website before retaining this firm.

Mr Kerns spends no time on your case and still charges outrageous rates. I recently got a dissolution through his firm and his colleague told me that my retainer would cover the dissolution! Ralph had to let him go and took over the case. He met with me 4 times and answered about 15 quick emails. My ex's attorney wrote drew up the papers and put on the child support worksheet 3 children when there was only 2. I was the one who caught it. We met with my ex and her attorney and he was actually taking their side. My dissolution cost me over double my retainer. He charged me over $100 to answer yes/no emails. Please do yourself a favor and stay away from his firm. He is the most unethical person I have ever met. Good luck in your search and please take my advice. Read the other reviews, they all had the same experience.

Ralph A. Kerns & Associates has been a blessing for me. I spoke with a couple attorneys before hiring Ralph A. Kerns & Associates and felt pretty confident with my decision. It turned out that I made the right decision. Ralph Kerns & Associates helped me file my bankruptcy and planned the perfect time for me to file. To come to find out it was in my best interest to wait to file so I didn’t have to pay some of my debt back and the possibility of losing some of my tax return for the following year. Every time I call I get a live person on the phone, not a voicemail unlike some of the law offices I’ve called when shopping around. I would definitely recommend this firm to anyone who is looking for compassionate representation that cares. I’m so glad they told me to wait unlike the other firms I spoke with. They were even able to answer some of my questions I had about child support. They get an A+ in my book!

He Does nothing but ask for money and states that he will do his best!He then lets his staff do the job that he needs to do!They do what they want and charge you til your out of money or owe money then they want to quit! They also state things to you that they have done to make them look like they are doing you good and make you have no choice in maters! I think that HE should be disbarred for misrepretion! That's my thought !

Mr.Kerns is disorganized and has poor listening skills.He has poor follow-through and needs to be continually reminded about the facts at hand. He did not appear to have my best interest at heart. He was not an advocate for me.

Mr Kerns first talks big but don't deliver. Regardless of what his website says, he often times never returns calls. He's never in his office. He continually asks the same questions and information that he all ready has. He doesn't follow instructions, for if he had my legal matters would had been over by now. His office continually bills me incorrectly. He won't fight for you so beware!
