It's too bad that Fred passed so early. He was a brilliant lawyer and businessman, and will forever be missed by me and his clients in general. He was also a real lawyer's lawyer.I know of many occasions when he acted for other lawyers, in some of which cases he saved their licences or enabled them to retire without further consequences, which is in itself an achievement.

Called me 2 years later saying I owed him money on a house purchase. Was charged $300.00 in interest for a mistake is firm made.

After having looked at some of the reviews - I note that $200 an hour is actually cheap. Have a look at law magazines and see the 'going rates'. In Toronto - several lawyers are now charung $1,000.00 an hour; and I belive that the average for Canada is about $350 an hour.

Fred does a lot of work for free, without expecting anything in return. Some may think he is impolite, he is just direct & actually a gentleman once you give him a chance. Really, he is dealing with law, what do you expect. He's supposed to be tough.

Mr. Bortoluzzi may be located out in the middle of nowhere e person, but when I have problems with tenants and or contractors and or the city (thanks a lot Sam Katz!) Fred is there to take care of them. Over the years I’ve had issues with shoddy construction work, derelict, deadbeat tenants, and a city run by a self serving crook. With a little time and effort Fred has always been able to give me solid advice, and right the wrongs thrown into my face.

Fred might not be the most polite, but he is definitely the most direct and **** free. I was in a real bind once because my university roommates had problems with the law, and there was a possibility that I could have been associated with their activities given that we lived together. Fred sat me down, gave me a game plan and in the end got me off the hook. A gentleman and a scholar.

Take it from someone who needs a lot of lawyers, Fred is by far the best lawyer I've ever had. He can swear at me all he likes, long as he keeps saving my butt.

Fred is considerate and competent and has a great sence of humour. He explains all legal issues fully and in a manner which can be easily understood. His fees are reasonable, he takes the time to listen to listen to your problems and he arrives at solutions which are cost-effective, straightforward and reasonable. He may not have a fancy office, but his fees are reasonable and he gets the job done. For a working guy like me, he was just what the doctor ordered. I can't say enough about how grateful I am to Fred for solving what had been a vicious domestic litigation battle before Fred came onto the scene. Fred's approach was both pragmatic and principled. Not only did Fred save my pocket book, he saved my relationship with my children. Fred saved my life. I will always be grateful.

This guy reminds me of one of the Sopranos. He is the stereotypical slimey lawyer. In the reception area of his office on McPhillips, he has a bench shaped like a shark. I'm not kidding. At least he's not hiding the fact he is a shark. He took my almost $1000 retainer, and it was gone in two weeks. What he did, I'm still trying to figure out. Also trying to decide if I will take him to the Court of Queen's Bench to get my money back, as he did close to nothing for it. CHARGES $200 PER HOUR. He isn't worth $20 an hour. Don't walk, RUN away from this guy.

Fred is a knowledgable lawyer who has the ability to practice in almost all areas of law. If he doesn't think you have a good case, he will tell you up front. I have always found him pleasant and easy to deal with, and he helped me with a lot of my problems, in some cases charging me nothing. My highest recommendation for Fred.

This guy is a shark. STAY AWAY! He took an $800 retainer from me. For $800, he wrote one letter for me and got an accountant to do a few hours work. After a few months had passed, I asked him to do some more work for me (another letter), and he didn't respond to my phone calls and emails. I phoned and told them I was disatisfied and unhappy with him and wanted what was left of my retainer. When I went to the office to pick it up, they told me none was left. They said he charges $200 per hour. Had I known this, I never would have hired him, as I am on diability. He was recommended by a lawyer I had who was moving. The $200 per hour fee was conveniently left out of our discussions. I thought I would be paying $125 per hour, as this was what I was paying my first lawyer. He doesn't look at you when he talks, probably because he knows all too well he's going to take you for all you give him, with little work in return. He comes across as a slimeball. STAY AWAY!!
