Stephen Eckdish is an expert immigration and criminal attorney, making him the perfect lawyer for my complex case. I immigrated to the U.S. with my parents thirty years ago when I was a young boy. I became a permanent resident at the beginning of the recent economic downturn, also known as the great recession. I lost a high paying job and had a very difficult time finding another job. I took it fairly hard and resorted to drugs which consequently got me in trouble with the law in two different counties.
I have since gone back to school to start a new career in the medical field. I have turned my life around, but my past mistakes posed a major roadblock in becoming an American citizen. Mr. Eckdish worked tirelessly to have both of my drug related criminal cases vacated in order to pave way for my citizenship. I have since applied for my citizenship and now awaiting an interview. I have the utmost confidence that my dream of becoming an American citizen will become reality in the comin

My US Citizenship application was approved after 7 long years because of the hard work of Atty. Stephen Eckdish, a Criminal and Immigration Expert. He worked tirelessly clearing my 5 CIMT cases by post-conviction relief which won my case against the Immigration Court in 1998 until the time of my US Citizenship interview last March 2014 where he submitted a concise background history of my cases that caused the USCIS approving my application for Naturalization without opposition.
Mr Eckdish is very professional ,courteous and compassionate. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs help in Immigration issues. Kudos to you Mr Eckdish and thank you for all your hard work and your friendship!
Today I rec’d the letter stating the date of my US Citizenship Oath taking ceremony for Aug 17, 2014 at Paramount Theater in Oakland. Wohooooo!!!

I hold Attorney Stephen Eckdish in my highest regard. I not only admire his legal acumen but also his compassionate, kind and generous nature. It was his humane spirit that made me open up to him regarding the domestic violence I had suffered by my former husband. Mr. Eckdish helped me obtain my U. S. permanent residence through a VAWA petition. It was a complex case considering the lack of physical evidence available when we filed. Stephen guided me to corroborate and present the evidence from my treating physicians of my post-traumatic stress disorder and depression. He was always there supporting me and giving me hope to keep fighting. Seeing him so determined to win my case, made me stronger and more confident in my ability to fight for my rights. Stephen was a true partner for me in my case. He was a genuine, emphatic and a highly skilled advocate for me. I wholeheartedly recommend all immigrants in need to retain Mr. Eckdish. He is the best immigration lawyer that you will find!

Stephen Eckdish is a fantastic attorney. My husband needed Stephen's criminal defense expertise to stay out of immigration court. At first the courts didn't want to have anything to do with my husband's case and when they finally agreed to look at it they said 'sorry we can't help you'. Well Stephen did not give up and tried a different approach and succeeded in obtaining the post-conviction relief we needed to get past this trying time.

I am here to write review about Stephen. He is very knowledge about both criminal and immigration laws. During my case proceed he worked diligently to prepare all the documents needed, did go to library even to do some research on one aspect and prepared a document that is very strong and present a clear picture in front of the Judge and the DA. His professionalism and care to individual case helped the DA to dismiss the case and receive factual of innocence. I appreciate all the hard work Stephen put in this case. I would highly recommend Stephen, specially if it involve criminal and immigration matter. One thing I can say is that he is very straight forward and will fight to get the best result by studying and understanding the scenario you are in. I pray for Stephen well being and live long to help people.

January of 2012, my husband was detained by ICE for a criminal conviction from fifteen years ago. After consulting with numerous immigration attorneys, my husbands future was to accept that he had no choice but to be deported to a country he does not know. After almost giving up, we decided to give it another shot and consulted with Stephen Eckdish, Immigration Attorney.
Mr. Eckdish reviewed all the possibilities and came to the conclusion we had one shot at beating this. Even though this case was difficult, Mr. Eckdish was the only lawyer to give us the fighting chance we needed.
After 3 months of detainment, my husband was reunited with his family. And now, 15 moths later, my husband is no longer in deportation proceedings. All this is a HUGE thanks to Mr. Eckdish and his legal experience. I would highly recommend him to anyone with immigration legal issues. He was the only person that made the impossible, possible.
Forever grateful,
Rodriguez Family

Mr. Eckdish handled a complex criminal matter which would have had adverse effect on my immigration status. He pulled a legal move in court that really stretches the imagination. In order my my immigration status to be defensible, a certain type of crime had to be erased from a decade ago, and changed into something that has a fighting chance in immigration court. That sounds simple in itself, but the process of getting a court to turn back time, change the charge and the ruling as if it never even happened is pretty tricky. Eckdish provided irrefutable logic as to why the court should rule in my favor, which they did. Even in court the judge complemented Eckdish as well as the DA on their legal cooperation.
Eckdish's prices are also fair, for the amount of time he dedicated to my case, and considering what service I received, I consider his rates to be very reasonable. During the time we worked together, he felt like family to me. He completely immersed himself into my case.

Stephen Eckdish, Immigration & Criminal Defense Attorney, helped me to reduce a felony charge to a misdemeanor and through out the whole process he showed a lot of experience, knowledge and he was very professional. He talked to me with the truth since our first meeting, everything he told me he was going to do he did it. Even thought, I had a violation of probation he found the way to prove that I had more positive attributes and by this manner he won my case.
He also helped me to terminate a prior restraining order, even thought there was very few probabilities to win the case, and the judge criteria was to deny it, Attorney Eckdish was able to pull out the motion from a denial and won the case, it was very amazing, a great effective attorney, I’m so thankful.
Mr. Stephen Eckdish is honest and kind person, he is very humane, and shows and high degree of care for the outcome of my problem, also he is very reasonable in price, He will fight for you like he did for me.

This San Francisco Imm. Att. is the worst, most rude, temperamental, unprofessional, condescending lawyer ever to practice law. He took our money to represent my wife in both a imm. criminal trial and an imm. hearing. He showed up in her misdemeanor trial and let her federal public defender do the work. He refused to do anything in her imm. hearing and was not only unhelpful he was detrimental to her case in which we had to hire other attorneys, costing us several months and thousands of additional dollars. He was also extremely rude and said my wife did not have any chance for asylum and that, I husband, should let the immigration deport her. Of course I did not and through my own actions was able to get her out of custody by posting a bond. I then filed for her asylum on my own and 3 years later my wife is still free and no thanks to this lawyer. He violated our trust and agreement and was most harmful to our case. He is unethical and should not be allowed to practice law anywhere.

I recently got approved by a judge in San Francisco, California. I was in deportation proceedings because I had 2 CIMT s. I was hopeless and I went to several lawyers that kind of made my case worst because they were not specialized in criminal and immigration.
After 2-3 years of been in the process I found Stephen Eckdish in San Francisco. He helped me sooooo much. He is the best when you are dealing with deportation and criminal immigration. Before him I had to do a waiver witch was denied I didn t appeal the decision and they send me to court for deportation.
MY lawyer Stephen was able to vacate one of my CIMT s and that made me admisabe to USA and the judge granted my permanent residence on July 11 2012. It was a miracle! Thanks to him!!!
Stephen is generous, kind, always there when you need him, and simply the best. I can t never thank him enough.

Mr Eckdish made what seemed to be impossible POSSIBLE for me. It was a complete miracle! I was facing deportation. After speaking with several attorneys I did not think that there was chance of winning a case for removal proceedings. Mr. Eckdish took the time to strategize accordingly every detail of the case and work it in a manner that required a great deal of attention and knowledge. There were a total of 3 cases in which there was an arrest and 2 of which were felonies, one a misdemeanor. To overcome this deportation was a miracle that was a true long shot.Without this attorney we would have lost without a doubt. His personal touch and ability to feel our pain and despair showed during the appearances. He made what 3 other attorneys indicated as impossible POSSIBLE.When we won the case, I knew that we just made history! He is by far the best attorney I have ever worked with and is not just an attorney for us a part of our family.

My husband found himself in the very dire position of facing deportation after twenty years as a Permanent Resident, due to several criminal convictions. Knowing that my husband did not look good on paper, and that only a handful of minutes before an Immigration Judge would determine his fate, we believed that our future depended solely on the ability of the attorney we hired. After interviewing several attorneys, both from large law firms and smaller independents, we chose Mr. Eckdish for his many years of both Criminal and Immigration Court experience, his personal handling of his cases, and for his tenacious demeanor which came across from our initial conversation. Thankfully, time has proven that we made the right decision, as Mr. Eckdish won our case due to his legal expertise, his dedication, and ultimately by presenting the judge with a comprehensive picture of my husband at our day in court. Through carefully prepared testimony, an assemblance of credible witnesses, and a

Mr. Eckdish is truly a kind and very generous person,is extremely knowledgeable in both Criminal and Immig Law, he looks at all angles and explains everything. He is very passionate about protecting his clients. This type of experience is extremely rare, butimportant when you have a loved one facing both crim and imm charges, which could ultimately result in removal.I hired Mr. Eckdish to assist the local criminal attorney in getting this conviction modified in Criminal Court. His expertise was valuable, he was responsive, generous with his time, he answered my calls and helped me feel at ease. The argument that was presented to the court was extremely direct, persuasive and very strong. We succeeded in getting my husband’s sentence modified, when my husband was taken in by ICE, Mr. Eckdish spoke to the ICE agent directly and spoke of all the positive things about our family. Ultimately my husband was released from ICE custody, and I cannot express how thankful I am to Mr. Eckdish.

I am writing this to highly recommend Mr. Stephen Eckdish. He's a great immigration attorney and he helped me out twice.
The first time, he prepared by naturalization papers. Everything went smooth and super-fast, so I got my citizenship in less than 4 months ((San Francisco service center). He came with me to the interview as well, making sure that everything is going well.
The second time, I used Mr. Eckdish 's services in a matter related to an AOS procedure for an immediate relative. Again, everything was smooth and without any problems. He attended the AOS interview and his presence there was reassuring and invaluable in securing instant approval. Bottomline, my relatives got the green card approved in less then three months (again, processing took place at the San Francisco office).
I am very grateful for his continued support and for the professional way he handled both my cases.

My husband is from Barcelona, Spain (I am American) and we needed to go through the process of obtaining a green card. Stephen made the rigorous process go smoothly and in a very timely manner. We made it clear that we wanted to get things done as soon as possible, and four months after the filing date we already received it. Stephen is very personable, knowledgeable, and VERY easy to get a hold of (one of my favorite qualities in a lawyer). He is patient and has no trouble explaining things in a clear manner. I highly recommend him for any international married couple trying to get through the green card process. Guarantee he will make the process go smoother!

My brother-in-law received a Notice to Appear from the Department of Home Land Security Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) informing him that he was ordered into Immigration Court removal proceedings based upon his Domestic Violence conviction that happened many years prior, even after his probation, educational classes and fines were completed. So we did some searching online for an immigration attorneys and Stephen Eckdish was of the three attorneys we decided to interview. The first two informed us that there was a good chance that they could get my brother-in-law a one time waiver and that was his only option and with no guarantees. This would have required my brother-in-law to go through a complicated and long Individual Court Hearing in which there would have been a real risk that he could have been deported.
But when we meet with Stephen Eckdish, he informed us that he too could achieve the waiver but he also informed us that he was not only an immigration attorney but a

I highly recommend Mr. Eckdish if you have an immigration issue/deportation issue. Mr. Eckdish won two of my relatives cases. They were serious cases. One was for voluntary manslaughter and one was for drug of sales. Both with past felony and misdemeanor history. After Mr. Eckdish's efforts, time and dedication, he won both cases. His dedication showed right at the beginning when he even met w/ us during the holiday weekend, because sometimes w/ immigration cases, time is of the essence. Mr. Eckdish is very knowledgeable in both Immigration/Criminal which makes the process a lot easier. Its like hiring two attorneys in one! Mr. Eckdish is tough, straightforward and pushy for a reason. He makes sure things get done and every avenue is sought - no room for errors. Think twice about who you hire, because it is your life you are dealing with. Mr. Eckdish is very generous and friendly. He will make you feel comfortable and is if you were family to him.

I considered myself lucky to have found Mr. Stephen Eckdish to represent me in immigration court. Mr. Eckdish is the first lawyer to go the extra mile to help me analyze my case and laid out all the possible consequences for each scenario during my consultation meeting. He is very knowledgeable and has extensive experience in regards to immigration matters. He successfully helped me reduced my former conviction’s sentencing so that I can have a chance to fight my deportation case. With Mr. Eckdish’s knowledge and help, I was able to win the case that no other lawyers had confidence in fighting against.
I’d highly recommend Mr.Eckdish to anyone with immigration matters. He was very helpful and patient throughout the process. He answered all of my questions and ensured that I fully understand what’s going on before moving on to the next stage with the case. Mr. Eckdish is a great lawyer and a wonderful person. I would recommend Stephen Eckdish's services to anyone and everyone. I was in a dire situation where the US Government was trying to deport me for an 11 year old drug charge. I spoke with many different attorney's and all told me the same thing... there is no hope and you should just volunteer for self-removal. That is when I found Stephen and, very refreshingly, said he would take on my case and that all was not lost. After almost 2 years of dedication and perseverance to my case and situation I am proud to say that all removal proceedings have been terminated and I am now a US Citizen!! I am very grateful for the support that he provided my family and I to ensure that I am able to stay in the United States.

Atty.Stephen Eckdish does the impossible to solve immigration/criminal problems. Without him, I'd be in removal proceedings. He persuaded USCIS that I'm not inadmissible despite my arrests/convictions by arguing that only one of my convictions was for a crime of moral turpitude. He proved I was eligible for petty offense exception & not deportable. Because of his expertise, I'm now a lawful permanent resident. Mr. Eckdish went the extra mile to help us. He personally presented legal authority to the supervisor in charge of the adjustment unit to show I'm eligible for green card. He's not just a lawyer; but, a friend of the family. He helped us through frustration/uncertainty, explained things clearly, answered questions so we actually understood. He's "real"--he's moving, or calm & cool, as needed. He's connected, very professional. Mr. Eckdish, my family & I can't thank you & your assistants enough. We can finally get on w/our lives now & remember you always & thank you again!

My family was very fortunate to find Mr. Eckdish as our lawyer to handle my brother's criminal conviction case. He helped us in a professional manner from beginning to end; yet, he is one aggressive lawyer (in a positive way). He used the simplest language to help us understand the case. He was up-front about the whole case and answered our questions in calmly and assuring manners. Mr. Eckdish was aware of the legal complications and found an immediate solution. He knew he was taking on a challenge and executed his job very well. He was in contact with us until my brother safely came home and he still maintains his relationship with us to ensure everything is fine. Mr Echdish, we really appreciated all your hard work and patience. We were very pleased with your service and would recommend you to all my family and friends without any hesitation.

Stephen Eckdish is an immigration lawyer and criminal defense attorney and has decades of experience and taken on hundreds of cases. I randomly found him online after doing a search and retained him 2 years ago. Because immigration law is extremely complicated, I needed a good, tough, and aggressive lawyer with years of experience to represent me. And I'm glad I found Steve! Everyone's case is different and I'm not gonna go into details of what mine entailed (there are literally millions of ways that people can get screwed over or screw themselves over), but all I can say is it was the best decision I've ever made.
He's definitely busy and takes on multiple cases at a time. I've had trouble reaching him in the past, but ever since he acquired a few assistants (who btw are extremely knowledgeable, organized, and on top of things), everything has gone very smoothly. I cannot thank him enough for everything he has done for me.
