Terrible lawyer. I echo other peoples comments that he acts like he has no idea what is going on. Was late to court hearings multiple times while I stood in front of the judge looking like an idiot. Please don't hire this guy.

Bret came highly recommended and he showed me why. He listened to all my concerns, helped me focus on what was important and not get wrapped up in all the emotions. He is honest, up front and very responsive. He wanted the right thing to be done and that is exactly what ended up being accomplished. Obviously it is an unpleasant experience to go through the court system however, Bret made it as easy as possible for me and I really felt like he was fighting right beside me the whole time. Hopefully, I won't need an attorney in the future but if I do, I know who I'm calling.

Bret did me a huge disservice, he spent my money very fast and accomplished virtually nothing. My money ran out and he dropped me like a bad habit. He is the quintessential poster boy for all that is wrong with lawyers in todays society. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for representation. Go with Nate Peterson or Phil Bevis or any of a number of far better lawyers!

Speaking to other attorneys, Bret is known to be quite a spoiled brat. If extreme large sums of cash are not handed to him on a silver platter, he will not work very hard for you. He will easily waste thousands of your dollars, while accomplishing literally nothing. As well, it has been questioned among other attorneys if he has a drinking problem. I would not trust him by placing the most important aspects of your life in his hands. A fair warning. And, this review is going quite light on him. It is better than filing a malpractice suit against him. which he actually deserves. However, I am not vindictive or greedy. He however, is definitely greedy. You have been sufficiently warned. If you do not listen, it is your own fault.

I recommend Bret to everyone I know needing an amazing attorney!! My attorney had to pass me off 2 weeks before trial, she recommended Bret. I was skeptical at best. He met me in his office on a Sunday afternoon, coming home form vacation early. He was already well versed in my case and had a whole new, aggressive but fair game plan. He re-wrote the whole proposal and we were able to settle before trial and I won way more than we asked for!! He got my case resolved so quickly that the bill was significantly less than I had anticipated and planned for. He is so knowledgeable in so many areas, I feel for the first time in my life that I have an attorney I can go to for anything!!!!

Bret spent the last 6 months working on a custody case for me. He has so much knowledge, cares deeply about his clients, and is on the ball with getting things done. His paralegal is amazing as well. Since wrapping up my case, I've already referred several friends his way. Should the need ever arise for me, I will definitely use Bret again. I highly recommend him.

DO NOT HIRE this guy. I paid him part up front, he acted as he had no clue what was going on the entire time and was very very rude and condesending. He told me the rest of the fees were due by the last court date but demanded it half way through so I fired him. I lost a lot of time and money and he ended up doing worse for me than I could of done myself. You are better off with a public defender.

Bret is a horrible! He didn't do his job! My sister has four kids and needed someone to defend her properly. I don't know how he can make a living doing this. He's expensive and doesn't care about your situation and basically told us after court she broke the law so that's the way it goes. Trust me you are better off saving your money and use a public defender!! I should of done my homework and read these reviews on him! They are true!!

this guy was horrible.. he works in all fields so he does not specialize in any. He thins himself out and is not fully commited to a case. never knew what was going on with my case, lied to me. He was very disrespectful and rude. I was so blown away that he literlly knew nothing of what was going on. I had to remind him several times.. I could have represented myself and saved the money and done a better job. plus he wears these puffy slacks and looks like a teenager.. its sad when I showed up for the hearing and looked more professional than he did.. dont hire this guy im shocked he can make a living doing this

I am suprised that he can make a living practicing law because he royally messed up my divorce case. He was very rude, I came out with much less than I was legally entitled to receive. He lost my paperwork, never prepared me for any of our meeting with my ex's attorney and seemed cluless durring my entire case. Unbelievable...

Mr. Shoufler poorly communicated throughout my entire case, was ignorant on some of associated laws and processes, and did not complete his commitments. He dabbles in too many different areas to be knowledgable in any. Stay away from this guy.

I used Mr. Shoufler as my divorce attorney and as difficult as my ex was, he was very professional, patient, yet direct with my emotional breakdowns and kept me focused. He has many contacts which helped to expedite the system and his support staff was very helpful and professional as well. I have recommended him to acquaintances who have also had a similar experience with their legal matter.

Took a good deal of my money and didn't produce much results. Said I tied his hands because I asked him to keep the costs down. In other words don't charge me for every breath he takes while pondering my case. I'm very unhappy and would not recommend this lawyer to anyone.
