Ms. Boyd has been my attorney on and off for 20 years. It is really sad reading the negative remarks. I have used her services as well as referred my clients to her. Without exception, all of us have been pleased with her services. She charges below market rates for an attorney with her experience. She works out payment plans and will work with you as long as you live up to your payment plan. Since I am a business owner, I have to be careful who I refer my clients to.
She is very creative and thinks outside the box. She can definitely economize and show you how to get the most out of your money. She will even let you do some of the legwork yourself
She is a honey badger in the court room and does not take any s---t off anybody. She definitely has my respect.
Give her a call. She can tell you who these bozos are who are bad mouthing her. DRR

She's the worse you can ask for, if you are the father you can maybe rely on her, if you are the mother forget it, I feel like she was hired to protect the other side not me. Very mean, rude, nasty attitude, calls names, bully. She should get disqualified. All she cares about is her money, and convinces to negotiate with the other side, she will never fight for you. I thought, herself being a divorced mother she would work differently, but yet I understood she doesn't like to deal with ladies.

Rita was a huge disappointment in our case. We asked to hire her in our custody battle and throughout, she was extremely difficult to communicate with, as well as terribly rude, as if we were nothing but a piece of gum stuck to her shoe. She constantly spoke down on us, seeming annoyed to be filling up her time with anyone who doesn't know the court system, completely disregarding our needs, and rashly discrediting our performances. She told us to do unethical things- omitting important details from our court order and signing her name for her. Paid her $1000 upfront with a verbal agreement that she would charge $250/hr. Unfortunately for us, she did not present a contract, and we assumed she would keep on her word. She showed up to court with no preparation, not even knowing the details of our case that we had sent her days in advance. We were in court for an hr and next day, we learned she did not file as our Attorney of Record. Received no invoice, no $ back. Charged $1000/hr. :/

I am an out-of-state father (non-custodial parent) who was looking a lawyer that would do what was in the best interest of my daughter. That's exactly what I got from Rita. She did not sugar coat anything and gave me great advice for handling my situation b/c she realizes every situation is different. I myself will never hire her again, never return calls or emails and will never follow though on her work, she stood me up a few times and took advantage of me, one time i can tell she was on something, however i will never use her again and it seems like its all about the money with her, call me a nit wit and a dummy.

I read the negative and positive post's below and decided to take a chance (I know Dumb right)? Well I was very presently surprised when the rates were reasonable her service was impeccable and her knowledge was outstanding. I am a father and in Texas we always get the short end of the stick right? I did not I got everything that will teach the cheating wife a lesson. I won/we won and I could not be happier... Seems to the negatives below were unjust.

Rita is quite a personality! She is the type of attorney you want if you want the truth about your prospects and what to expect in court. Ms Boyd did a wonderful job representing my son several months ago. I am appalled by the negative stuff people have put on this site! Too bad the folks that have hateful things to say are usually the only ones that will write a review. Boo! It's easier to post neagative reviews than for someone to take the time to post something a bit more positive. I will use her again, if I ever have an issue!

Very professional and very stern. When we went to court her demeanor was confidant well prepared and soothing in a tense situation. Mrs. Boyd/Ramirez took the time to hear me understand my situation. I am very pleased with her and her service. Not the cheapest but she is quite possibly the best. I do highly recommend her because we trust her.

Rita refused to prepare herself or me for court and when I asked for my files back I was forced to employ another lawyer in order to get them. She has also so far, refused to give me a refund on money she owes me.

HORRIBLE! She recently sent me a derogatory email and I didn't know why until I found this website and read the one of the posts. It sounded like I wrote it. She never returned my calls or emails. For a year I didn't hear from her and when I did it came in form of a huge bill. She lied and told me that I had to go to mediation and sign the paper before court and that. Mediation didn't work so she had me go to a closed office building on a Sunday to sign them. during mediation she told me that Fathers For Equal Rights had folded, and I quote, "for lack of funding". I called them soon as I left and got a voicemail, then contacted them the next day. To get me to sign them she said that we were still having court on Tuesday..I showed up and there was no court and she wouldn't answer my calls. She charged me for a court date that she did not come to and didn't tell me that she wasn't going to make it until I called her. She even charged for multiple calls that day. HORRIBLE!!!

never answered calls, emails. sided with opponent, lied to me the client. did not fight for me. i'm a very good dad and love my kids. rita boyd never tried to find out about me, she automatically sided with my wife. bullied me into signing papers, then told me to bring all my papers to court tuesday, because we were going before a judge. i went to court she was not there. i learned i had no court date, it eas a lie. she won't return my phone calls. i feel that she took advantage of me.

I am a business owner. I had unresolved child support issues that involved interstate enforcement between California and Texas and levies on my accounts. It was a total nightmare. It was on my credit report and affecting my ability to have a license and get a passport. One state didn't know what the other state was doing. One state levied my account. Then, the other state duplicated its efforts. They placed liens that froze my funds right when I needed the money to take care of business. Rita took me through the process with professionalism, courtesy and ease. It took some time but the issues were resolved. I know some people may find her to be abrupt. I found it to my advantage in the cases I had. No B.S. Straight to the point. I have recommended her to my friends and business acquaintances.

I used Ms. Boyd on two different cases. I found her services to be invaluable. She did exactly what she said she was going to do and charged me exactly what I was told I would be charged. She's a great attorneys and even better individual!

I can not even believe that this woman is still a practicing attorney. We gave her a huge retainer, and she said she had our court date rescheduled, but she never did. She ended up lying in the courtroom causing us to be defaulted against. Then when I asked her for a refund she said to call back in a few months and she would be more than happy to discuss it. That never happpened. We paid her to basically make us look stupid, and be really rude and hateful to us, while taking our money. Do not use this crazy person as your attorney.

She will take on client with a retainer, but not be able to provide the services that she’s offered; therefore she refers the client to another, expensive, attorney. The other attorneys benefit from her incompetence she genuinely doesn’t know what she is doing and the new attorney has to charge even money due to the time to clean up the mess. I’ve seen clients being taken advantage of. This unethical behavior is a way of living for these attorneys. The expensive, attorney will take advantage of the incompetent one, This protects the the incompetent attorney so that the other attorney can pick up her cases. They are each, equally,working in conjunction with each other; the incompetent preying off the client, and the competent attorney is preying off the incompetent attorney. Unfortunately, this attorney is so incompetent that preying off the unsuspecting client and then pawning them off, is the only way for her to make a living due to no repeat business and no referrals.Ringside

I filed for divorce 15-yrs ago, paid Rita Boyd a retainer and gave her a huge box full of documents to support my case.. she never did anything at all! then when I went to her office to get my files back she would not return them. She is absolutely TERRIBLE!!!

Absolutely terrible, unprepared, incompetent, insensitive, did not return phonecalls, emails and just an all around horrible lawyer. Easily frustrated, was sick every time she came to court saying it was her sinuses, possibly drug usage, and unprofessional. Called me the night before my trial to request her full retainer but did not prepare for my case. She emailed me the morning of my trial asking me to print ALL documents and bring them to court due to her printer crashing then had her assistant call me thirty minutes later to say she was too 'sick' to make it to my trial. She left the rescheduling of the trial in the hands of opposing counsel. I am currently filing a grievance with the State Bar of Texas to have my retainer refunded. DO NOT RETAIN THIS LAWYER!! YOU WILL REGRET IT I PROMISE!!!

She is horrible and quite a B!!. She took thousands of dollars from me and my husband. We couldnt get return phone calls or emails and she had no clue when we finally went to court and we ended up loosing the case. We asked for a bill on several occasions and did not receive one until after we went to court. She said we owed her thousands more and when we reviewed the invoices she sent, we found in fact she owed us over 3 thousand dollars because she failed to add two payments of over 6 thousand dollars to it. When confronted with this info, we still didnt get a response for over a month. When she finally responded, she said "We are currently doing billing now and will send you an updated bill and her is a new contract and we need another $2500 retainer. SHE SUCKS!!

Just took my money did not prepare for my case and did not return any of my phonecalls or emails. Appeared unprepared and incompetent in court. I never got invoices just bills for $1000+ after my retainer was exhausted.
