I am so disgusted with this lawyer he needs to be reported to the Law Society from each person that has had issues as his dirty dealings need to come to light. He is not upfront, he will "work" on your case and charge hundreds of "billable" hours that are definitely not legitimate and completely unnecessary. He will take more than you can ever even afford it is absolutely awful

My experiences with him and his staff have always been exceptional and his fees have always been more than reasonable. The services completed for me have always exceeded my expectations and the depth of knowledge and commitment to excellence merits a 5 star rating. Thank You Merv.

Very caring, thorough, and knowledgeable. Very pleased with the results and his modest fees. Carefully look at the reviews on here, it seems like there is someone posting random repeated negative reviews.

I would not recommend Mervyn Phillips as a lawyer. Promised my mother he would help settle her estate, like other people have stated he said we needed more documents. Very hard to reach. Bill was not clear what he was charging so much for. Will not release the money that is owed to us! Will not return income tax information of my late mother''s either. States he cared so much for my mom! What a joke! I know what he really cared about!!!!

Lawyers are expected to be upfront about their fees, clear in their communication, and efficient in the use of their time and our money. Our family has had the misfortune of being involved with Mr. Phillips for the last 2.5 years as the Executor of our relative's will, which he drafted himself, and he has been the opposite of these things. We have had to engage another lawyer to force him to state his fees. He either ignores questions or answers them in a way that even our other lawyer cannot understand. He has meddled in affairs that were not part of the will. He has dragged out the process interminably and more than doubled the suffering of my family at the loss of our relative. Stay away from this lawyer.

Merv evades letting us know what he is charging to execute our sister's will. He seems to be purposely dragging things out, so his bill will be higher.

Horrible lawyers at this firm. I would not reccommend anyone to this firm. My case should have taken three months in total to be done and over with which they told me that it would and my case ended up taking 8 months in total....They screwed up my paper work more than once,never communicated with me I always had to call them they would never call me and they also said that it would be one price and then charged me more than what they said it would be.... I am very disappointed and would never go back to them and I would never recommend them to anyone.

Merv Phillips & the other members of his team are the most unprofessional group I've ever encountered. Straight up bullies who will charge you through the nose with little results. They will also try to convince you to sue anyone or everyone and produce document after document, when they don't achieve results they blame others. Don't hire Merv Philips.

Brought my problem to Merv. I did not know where to start myself. He talked me through all of the steps at our first meeting, then he delivered on everything he said he would. I just obtained my divorce and custody of my two children. Thank You Merv!

Merv Phillips loves to charge you a ton of money, so he will provide a million documents , and will charge more than it's worth.. Loves to play the game of avaidavids goes back and forth, until you owe so much money, that you don't know where to turn..He talks forever and ever and ever,,,then more paperwork,,,very boring...Goes on forever,,of course on your dime. Personality is a deeply mean, un-caring , but very professional bully.

I used Merv Phillips for my parents estate.His costs were very high and his acomplishments were very low. I payed Merve Phillips a large amount of money with very little results.I found another lawyer that wrapped up the case in short order with little cost. If you want to spend a lot of noney and obtain very little results hire Merv Phillips. He was very good at wasting my money

We went with Phillips for our mortgage. The closing date of our mortgage was July 9 and we are still not complete - it is now July 14. There has been little to no communication from his office, it's all been initiated from our end. In the process of signing the papers there was no mention that our credit cards (which were being paid off) were being closed. We found this out the hard way and it was up to us to re-open and apply to have any sort of credit. As it stands right now we can't even book a hotel room. NOTHING was mentioned about this during the entire process. We are currently waiting for a cheque for the remaining funds from our re-mortgage. Endless emails and phone calls are producing no results. This is the 4th mortgage I've done and it is the worst service I've received. In the past we have sold & bought a house, and moved within 3 weeks, and this is now over 6 weeks and we are still waiting for completion. Do not use Merv Phillips -- the worst lawyer service!

I used Mr Phillips in a separation case and he drove up legal fees in excess of $30,000 which my retired mother had to pay. He didn't even remember to put in a clause about custody of my daughter so we had to go back and ammend the judement and guess what? He charged more money! Don't use him unless you want to spend alot of cash for no results!

We used Merv Phillips for the Estate of our Father. If you want extremely terrible service for your money hire Merv. We had to fire him in frustration because we were accomplishing nothing over long periods of time and it was costing us a fortune.
