Patrick Barone is a sort of ambulance-chaser for DUIs.
I read the AVVO reviews - keep in mind that AVVO is run by attorneys - so people like Patrick Barone pay AVVO to keep their high ratings.
This site is not the same.*
Patrick Barone charged me $5000.00 to show up in court one time.
When the prosecutor offered a decent deal, Patrick Barone balked and told me great stories of how he would have the charges dismissed.
So I followed his lead.
A few days later, Patrick Barone called me and said that the next court appearance would cost an additional $2500.00.
I could not afford another $2500.00.
What did Patrick Barone do? He wrote a letter to the court, and told them that I *never* paid him, so he was dropping my case.
lol.
Around 100% of the positive reviews you read about him online are written by him and his friends.
He even got bounced once from either Yelp or another site, because their analytics showed that the reviews were similar

Reader's Digest version:
ME: DUI, 0.12 BAC
I sent an email to Mr. Barone office on a Friday, and received a call within an hour. We agreed to meet on a Saturday.
He charged $1500.00 on my credit card, stating this would be the full amount barring trial, or paperwork (subpoenas)
After our first court appointment, he angered the prosecutor, who then enhanced my charge (!)
When we reviewed the tapes of the arrest, Mr Barone proclaimed that I would have a 50-50% chance of the case
being dismissed, if he challenged the arrest.
He then demanded that I pay him another $1200.00, to once again appear in court, to challenge my arrest.
That was not our agreement. Additionally, I did not have $1,200 sitting around (he would only accept full payment, payable and due immediately.)
I replied in an email and said I would not pay more than we agreed upon.
That week, instead of replying or calling me, he went to the court and removed himself as my attorney.

Mr Barone handled my case excellently. He is very professional and knows how to get the job done. My case was pretty cut and dry but he still managed to get the best outcome that I could have hoped for. I felt very confident that Patrick Barone was trying his hardest to help me out during the gruesome and paninful experience of a DUI. I would recommend Patrick to anyone that is looking for a lawyer that knows how to handle DUIs and other similar criminal offenses. It is definitely worth the peace of mind knowing that you have hired the best of the best.

If you want to waste your money then this is the lawyer for you.They do nothing ,check out nothing,but they do collect your money.The Sec. of State saidthere was no case. No ticket,no artest,bloodwas contaminated at hospital with MORPHEN,'cannot be used against a person.Well it can be if the transcrips are no longer available. After 60days they are distroyed. These LAWYERSdidnt know tihs?

Mr. Barone has literally written the book on drunk driving offenses. He and his partners did an outstanding job representing one of my family members. They investigated the case thoroughly and wrote a first-class brief explaining why the arrest was unconstitutional. The prosecutor offered to reduce a charge of OWI to careless driving. There is a cost involved with hiring an attorney, of course, but when you weigh that against what you stand to lose, it is money well spent. We could not have been happier with Mr. Barone and his colleagues.
