Whatever Andrew Heft was, he is no longer. He lied about having his colleague Jon Shulak appear in court while he was away during the Israeli conflict. They ended up double billing while they were both ignored in court. No surprise he billed me for conflict of interest demanding a meeting with my real-estate broker. Daniel Romano appeared and suddenly everything got flipped. He lied to me that he got my instruction to undo everything he billed me for. Their big victory, getting an assessment from Ann Borget who up an quit saying 3 months later she was sick--huge bill with zero results. So now I'm stuck turning my case around from this fraud who wasn't able to appear in court because he's no longer competent. It was only after the results in court were so bad that I finally realized what a scam he was in a case involving verified child abuse from the opposing party. Obviously a money crazed pathological person who should have been removed years ago. You have been duly warned.

We spent a quarter of a million dollars on my case. He won all judgements but my ex ran away to the states. Gave him another 2000$ to see it through till end and gave up and told me my mandate was over long ago. Didn’t even have decency to answer emails about important topics. Money hungry and dropped me as soon as he saw he could not milk me anymore.

Andrew Heft in my opinion is a racist. My girlfriend is from the middle east and I feel he has been rude and condescending to her and has made her cry on several occasions. This man should not be hurting women in this way.

Only Andrew Heft was competent enough to handle my very challenging divorce situation. Mr. heft took on one of the nastiest cases of the court when he accepted mine. He was a complete professional, completely prepared, and totally focused on the goal. And when it counted, with the final judgement of the court, he achieved for me 100% of what I wanted. I have referred him to others requiring this service and have been thanked by them for my referral. And for those reviews here who complain about fees... I can only say that a 'bargain basement' attorney would have been drowned by my -ex's non stop filings, activities, and attorneys. If you want to achieve a specific goal, you have to hire a professional who understand how to achieve that goal. Mr. Heft is that professional.

Bad overall lawyer and should be avoided at all costs. Tells you lies about your chances of getting a fair settlement and then gives up in the end. Gives you the run around and tries to battle to increase fees or lies about your chances in the divorce.

Agree with many of the other comments here, that he does seem to create conflict where none exists, is not communicative and is somewhat disrespectful to clients. I actually found it more stressful dealing with him than my ex-wife. Appears to 'double dip' by bringing two clients to court at the same time, then disappearing for extended periods with the other client, while charging both. This happened twice. Because I was new to this business, I didn't realise that expensive trips to court were completely unnecessary in my case since my divorce was pretty pro-forma. This of course was not communicated to me, had to learn the hard way. Good points: tenacious, at times. But unless you are very rich or have an extremely acrimonious divorce, you can probably do better elsewhere.

I was referred to Andrew for my divorce. He saw that I did not have too much money or did not want to pay his $300.00/hr fee, he transferred me to his assistant who charged $200.00/hr. Dragged the case so long that I had no more money and had to declare bankruptcy. Stay away from this law office.

This man took $17,000.00 dollars before I fired him for making a complete mess of my case. He overcharges, creates conflicts instead of trying to find solutions and does not look out for the best interest of his clients.

He seems to know the law but is too busy to put in 100% effort on any one case. I find his fees too high. He doesn't let you talk and then he will spend time telling you lawyer jokes for which you get charged. Be prepared to do a lot of your own research if you have a case that is not straightforward, then, if you are lucky, you can get him to listen to you. Very frustrating to communicate with him.

do not mis-judge Andrew's pitbull performances, his tenacious behaviour is backed completely by his decades of experience and knowledge in and around the courthouse. He is not a pushover and will passionately fight for what is right. Would avoid this lawyer if at all possible. It will be a frustrating unproductive experience if you do not. Assistants are not competent, charges ridiculous amounts for faxes, letters. Nothing ever gets done, is not aware what mess assistants are creating and assumes no responsiblity for them, so who is the boss?

Too budy to deal with low profile cases... he will ask for deposits until he delays the hearings on and on. You pay to wait, if you are not a money worth case.
