I was a client of Mr. Banks for a family law matter. To be fair, I must say that Mr. Banks was recommended by a colleague of mine, who had gone through a divorce two years before. In my case, I found Mr. Banks not well prepared and unwilling to listen and communicate what is important, and the office was not well run.

Mr. Banks was late to my mediation by a half hour. During the mediation he was very rude and did not listen to me at all. He was unwilling to negotiate with the other lawyer to get more visitations, for me to visit my sons more often. He also, did not want to negotiate my child support or anything else. The only thing he wanted to do was to rush through the mediation to get back to his office. He was also rude to the mediator and my ex-wife’s lawyer as well, and wanted to argue with them about when the final hearing should be, due to our joint bankruptcy. I had to get another lawyer to call him to explain that in order to do the joint bankruptcy me and my ex-wife had to hold off on completing the divorce at this time. The only thing he had to do with this case was negotiate legal issues during the mediation; I had taken care of everything else. (Filing all required paper work with the courts and serving the papers to my ex.) Hiring a lawyer for my divorce was a complete waste.
