If you are a narcissist man that beats their wife, and has money and power (and this scumbag of an attorney), you are in great hands. She will lie her teeth off (I even have text messages that she sent my ex saying she was going to fumble spreadsheets), she will hire her friend as a parental expert to grant 50/50 and more. This man tried to kill me in front of our children (not the first time) and she made him look like an angel in court. If you're corrupt and have no other options, please reach out to Susan. She will save you and wreck your children's lives.

Susan handled my divorce / custody case and I couldn't have been more happy for the results she was able to give my family and I. My main concern / priority were my children and she was able to get the best results for my children and their needs. She was able to keep me at bay at all times and was very informative on on my case and questions that I had. A friend in Colorado recommended us to the Law Office Of Susan Marhoffer. Our case was somewhat difficult due to my sister being deaf and it was harder to communicate in all aspects of the process. Susan was very knowledgeable, professional and we only worked directly with her and not a bunch of paralegals and that was something I appreciated. She always answered email and phone calls within a matter of minutes. Susan came through in a big, positive way and was very honest and forthright through the entire process. Susan was very effective in the courtroom and respected by the other attorneys, too. I would definitely recommend her! Thanks Susan for the great service!

I can not in good faith recommend Susan as an outstanding attorney to others. On several occasions she recommended that I pursue actions that would just lead to more confrontation with my child's other parent, such as keeping my child for additional days when they weren't granted in the orders. She failed to see the case to conclusion of signed final orders by the court. Instead, she withdrew from the case, and upon asking for additional funds with the agreement that she would re-enter an appearance as attorney of record, she failed to re-enter an appearance on the case. While I did manage to get the parenting time I was after, the financial side of child support was not resolved. The wording of the parenting plan was very hard to follow and at times contradictory to other parts of the document. This has caused numerous confrontations with the other parent. Susan is good at letting you feel that she will fight for you, but the quality of the resultant documentation was lacking.

Susan Marhoffer has made numerous comments prejudicial to sexual orientation.
Please see her comments in these screenshots. Whether you are heterosexual or homosexual, this kind of behavior is intolerable. I urge you to consider Susan's behavior when choosing to do business with her firm.

Seriously the best. I had an attorney last year and ended up canceling the divorce only to be back at it again. Such a huge difference in the way she will fight for you ! She is a true savage but in the best way. So smart and the way she uses her words and experience is amazing. Today I had a difficult stressful hearing. She was right on top of everything , got me what I was asking for and more, truly thankful. She is as real as real gets. Isn't afraid to to say a thing!! Love that. Expensive! But worth every penny. I can sleep tonight.

Susan Marhoffer is a competent, skilled, and honest attorney with superb professional insight. She has great instincts for which arguments will prevail on court and which will fall short. Susan not only won everything we requested in court (80% custody, holiday schedule, protective orders) but her parenting plan draft was so well thought-out that it was approved with no virtually no modifications from the judge. I fired 4 attorneys before Susan, 2 of which I endured trials with and I assure you she is the best in town. At trial, she came prepared with evidence books that were professional and persuasive. She also referred me to an excellent PI. Although Susan's rates are comparable to others, her bills are lower than any of my previous attorneys because she doesn't over bill, a practice which seems too common in family law. I have referred friends as well as clients to Susan. She was referred to me by a law professor and once I met her I knew I'd made the right decision.

Susan was my second lawyer after my first lawyer allowed me to get annihilated in court. She was amazing! She was always willing to help me when I needed her and was always honest and straightforward. She gave me the time and attention I wanted. You don't get that from many lawyers. Best damn lawyer in the Springs. Straight talker and not afraid of taking it to the court room. She was my third lawyer in a custody case that went on for over 1 1/2 years. She settled out of court within the month of hiring her, the day of court. Thanks to this website and people's feedback she was my choice and the best one at that. She will tell you when you are asking for too much and label the cost of court versus the benefit you could or could not get out of pursuing. She is not intimidated nor does she play the games my other two lawyers did between opposing council, only earning more money for their pockets versus finding a solution to the case at hand. There is a reason this woman is rated so highly on this site with the highest number of people rating her. She is worth it. I totally back this website and this lawyer. Both are awesome.

Susan has been a great attorney. She helped guide us in what we could do ourselves and stepped in when needed during issues that required her assistance. She's usually pretty good about communicating promptly and wasn't afraid to give solid recommendations of when to push forward and when to back off. Highly recommend.

I could not ask for a better lawyer than Ms. Marhoffer. She did not just get me a divorce, she helped me get an annulment. In my eyes, she has opened the door for me to a second chance of starting my life fresh with no ties to my past. She is very direct, aims high, is always prepared, and she always has a plan. When most lawyers were skeptical about getting me the annulment I needed, she rose up to the challenge and made it happen. She is a woman you want on your corner.

This attorney promises you the world and never delivers. She files papers after papers promising you the world and then expresses her disgust at the judicial system to you when she loses. Most egriedious was when we had to go to court to ask the judge for immediate financial relief as I had not received child support in 4 months. Ms Marhoffer's bills were paid on time always. The judge got me 3000 plus dollars to hold me over. The next day I received and email from Marhoffer that the money she had gotten for me for my kids the day before for me was going to be used for her current bill. !!! She charged me for the court time and then took my relief money. I would never recommend her and two friends of mine that also used her felt she was terrible too. One of them ended up switching as well. Stay away! Divorce is hard enough without a bad attorney in the mix! I never write reviews but I had to on this one.

I hired Susan for her toughness, intelligence and straight-talk. For 13.5 months, she helped me do much of the divorce work myself and gave clear, wise advice without running up the hours. She fought hard for a custody plan that was right for the kids. She tried to negotiate a finanical settlement, but when that failed, her trial performance was spectacular...and the final settlement was almost exactly what she had predicted. Highly recommended.

Used her to represent me in several different hearings over a period of time. Initially, in retrospect, she was just lucky and faced less competent attorneys. However, it became quite evident, when facing a decent quality attorney, that she was ill prepared and had pursued a very poorly conceived strategy. She won few motions compared to the opposition and did not appear to be dedicated to defending my interests.

Her advice on timing, when to back off or soften an approach, balancing negotiations and how to approach the different judges in the Danbury court system was spot on. She was very responsive to requests for information and provided clear explanations for what was the likely outcome of each course of action considered. Her attentiveness to the welfare of the children never waivered. In all, I would highly recommend her.

Susan was worth every penny. She was confident, professional, very smart, and had my best interests for me during the divorce. Not only was she tenacious, she could be comforting as well. She was only interested in money, when she found out there was none she decided the divorce case should just be settled. We had a court hearing and I never knew about it till a few days before. When I inquired what the hearing was for she said it was to settle the case. Yet she had little information to do this. Well you know the saying "money talks" well this seems the case here. I have since spoken to many of her female x clients who said she burned them as well.

My ex-husband just admitted he wrote the negative rating for this lawyer. What sour grapes - just because the Judge awarded me $15,000 a month for twelve years and the house. She was worth every penny.

With her knowledge of the law, the other attorneys and the judges she gave me advice on how the case would likely turn out and she was dead on. Phone calls were returned the same day and her preparation for trial was meticulous - she knew my case better than I did! Legal fees were high but not out of line with other lawyers I interviewed.

Sharp as a tack and tough as nails (maintaining the pointed analogy). She carefully selects bits of evidence. I wish I had her during for the divorce, but only found her in my custody issues. Good at embarrassing the mendacious ex in court.
