2003 I had a drug case my first charge ever in my life I had .5 a half gram of crack the police didn’t find on my possession seemed like a easy case it was a possession charge any body else who never been in any trouble in they life would have got probation or drug court for such a small amount but instead I got 10 yrs I did 2 and went back to court on PCR against IVAN TONEY judge miller looked over the case and ask Ivan Some question simple ones he said a lawyer should know to do basic stuff like talk about my right to trial or did they red me my rights before arresting me which they didn’t tell me either and Judge Miller got so mad he said in court and I quote MR TONEY u handled this case carelessly and with PREJUDICE HE OVER TURNED MY CASE AND TOLD ME GO HOME YOU SHOULD HAVE NEVER WENT TO PRISON AND MR TONEY I HAVE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT YOU AND I WILL BE LOOKING INTO YOU WITH THE LAWYERS BOARD this is judge miller who said this I came home after 2 yrs in prison for nothing TERRIBLE

I hired Ivan for two cases... He done a great job on both! He always answered my calls, always returned my calls if we needed to talk more later about the case, price was very reasonable, and he did an excellent job on my cases!! He's very honest and to the point, he doesn't beat around the bush!! Very good lawyer, would recommend him to anyone!! ??

I don't understand all these bad reviews he has always called me back and has kept myself and my family informed. He cares about my case and cares about me. He is fairly priced and explains things to my parents and i when we don't understand. I had another big shot lawyer who cost way more money and the only times we talked was during the consultation and 10 minutes before the judge called me up. Toney is an awesome lawyer and would recommend him to others

I hired Ivan Toney to represent me in a adopition. I paid him $3000. He would not return my calls ever. The only thing he did was have another attorney come in after the baby was born for the birth mother to sign a relinqishment paper, which I had to pay him $300 for 5 minutes of work. Ivan never filed the paperwork through family court. Would not return my calls or keep appointments. I brought my son home from the hospital and all. 5 years later is when I found out that he never did anything! I actually have no legal right to my son. I called him and left a message, he returned it, only to say he must had forgot to file the papers. He requested $3000 more to finish my case. I hired a different attorney to do the adoption. I called Ivan and requested my file and he said it would cost me $100. He is a joke!! Very rude. I'm out all that money and had to hire another attorney. DO NOT HIRE IVAN TONEY FOR ANYTHING.

I'm not sure what everyone else is fussing about but this guy is one if the best lawyers that has ever represented me. He was very thoughtful, understanding, caring, and always did what he said he was going to do. He always returned my phone calls. I will always come to him for any legal problems.

I hired Ivan in jan 2009 from Florida in a interstate child custody act and he always returned my phone calls and my son now lives with me in Florida. His Mother hand a drug problem and he called me crying all the time Ivan took care of it and he was great Sincerely Dan Ferguson Gulf Breeze Florida

This lawyer quoted me a fee much much less than the lawyer I had at the beginning of the case. My ex-wife's attorney had been beating up on me and Ivan took this thing to a trial and got me out of years of alimony. He is ruthless in court.

this guy is a total con-artist. don't think about calling for his services. He represented me in a seperation hearing in 06", and it was a total sham. We had two weeks to prepare a case against my ex, my hearing was on a Monday morning. He ducked my calls and visits to his office for 13 days. He finally returned my call on the evening before my hearing, and bacically built my case on what I had told him over the phone. Needless to say the next morning in court I was soundly whipped into submission by my ex and her REAL attorney. We agreed on a price, he then took it upon himself to raise that price by $500, and then had the nerve to ask for more money at the end of my ordeal!! He walked away with substantial amount of money, and maybe, i say maybe, put in 5-6 hours of work on my case. Please pass the word... this guy is a fraud!!!

I also just finished a fee dispute against Ivan Toney and was awarded fees to be refunded. Apparently, Mr.Toney doesn't feel he has to answer to anyone and the laws of SC do not apply to him. Although he doesn't have an eye/hand coordination problem taking your money, he does have a severe problem of not delivering services he promised, returning phone calls, delivering documents in a timely manner, or charging more than initially agreed upon, which according to Webster is considered fraud. We now have a Certificate of Non Compliance and more paperwork to file with the SC Office of Disciplinary Counsel. Despite the award of my money being returned, I do not see that happening... I would recommend you run as fast as you can away from hiring this attorney unless you enjoy Nightmare at 304 Pettigru Street, Greenville, SC. This is one attorney that should definitely not be allowed to practice law. His unethical behavior tarnishes the attorneys that truly do an outstanding job
