He is no longer licensed to practice law in New York. In May 2007, he was suspended on uncontested and uncontroverted evidence that he had stolen some $70,000 from clients and had issued multiple checks that he knew would be dishonoroed. See: Matter of Baez, 42 AD3d 157. Faced with near-certain disbarment, in December 2007, he submitted his resignation. However, in accordance with standard procedure, his resignation included his affidavit which confessed his guilt to the charges which led to his suspension. The court ruled that his name be stricken from the rolls of attorneys retroactive to October 2007. See: Matter of Baez, 47 AD3d 225.
