I was recommended Ilonka Aylward from several people as an honest lawyer who will really fight for your best interests, which is why I chose to seek her consultation. Dr. Aylward speaks very frankly and does not sugar coat the facts. At the same time, she lets you know every option that is available to you and explains clearly what it means. Ilonka is very professional. Every her activitity, her advice, especially, her attention to details were so important for me and my case.
She was able to estimate my case objectively and weighted and provide me good recommendations. Never mind whether she did simple things e.g. separation agreement or some complicated stuff she always did it in so high level with good lawyer expertise and proficiency. Thanks to her I settled my case and got a really good solution. I can say that she saved my life from significant debts and alimonies. First, I'm an attorney and practice commercial real estate. I had to appeal some of my rulings in my divorce case and was a fish out of water. I looked around at several attorneys and everyone wanted so much and the fact of who I was going against (law firm). Then, I stumbled across Dr. Aylward's blog on appellate issues. I knew right away that she knew her stuff. I would consult with her first before anyone else. She is an absolute expert in appellate practice.

Dr. Aylward is an extremely knowledgeable and professional attorney. From my first meeting i felt Dr. Aylward was listening to my issues and helping me decide what was the best course of action for the outcome in which i desired. She was always available when i needed her or was able to respond in a timely manner. Her guidance and skill always let me know she was looking out for my best interest and in doing so kept my cost efficint as possible. Without a question if i needed representation again i would choose Dr. Aylward.

Representation was 100\% effective. Aylward knows the law and is powerful in presenting in court. She was able, in three months, to correct damages 2 previous attorneys had caused me, over 2 years and $24,000. I was devastated. Aylward was able to get the court to see the errors and bring me to a place where I have the hope of saving my son and being able to protect him.

I have had the pleasure to work with Ilonka Aylward, and I recommend her firm highly.
She is an articulate and skillful litigator who has the ability to be either collaborative or ferocious as the situation requires. She was extremely sensitive to the emotional issues of the client. Even when she was successfully playing hard-ball with the other side, she comported herself with dignity and professionalism.
I was impressed that even the judge commented on how well-articulated her motion was. While the cost for her services is in the top echelon of divorce attorneys in Charlotte, her performance and results more than justify the expense.

Dr. Aylward is an outstanding lawyer. It was my good fortune to find her at such a critical, crucial point in my life. She took my case and fought with dogged determination, never faltering. Her tenacity was not only incredible but contagious. After our first court appearance my ex-husband promptly fired his lawyer and immediately sought counsel from one of, if not the highest priced, well known law firms in NC. Dr. Aylward not only rose to the occasion but embraced it. It is hard to say who came to their senses first, my ex-husband or his lawyer. My ex-husband conceded and we settled out of court with a settlement that more than satisfied me. Dr. Aylward fought the fight and she did so fairly, with decency and respect. I cannot say enough in her regard.
