Not a good experience. Lost my case and blamed me for his mistakes. Was not professional in his work ethic nor his demeanor in front of the Judge on numerous occasions.

Biggest mistake to trust David to represent. He failed to inform even the basics, threatened outrageous additional fees when requested that he pull a cited record; absolutely refused to defend people. He repeatedly came to court unprepared saying "I was working on a big case." He would go months not returning phone calls or emails. Completely could not be bothered, stating, "I only took your case because I was going to be at the courthouse anyway."

I would highly recommend David Slepkow. Mr. Slepkow is an amazing man who cares very deeply about his clients. He went above and beyond to help me in my time of need, even if it meant working well past office hours because he is a very busy man. He'a always at the top of his game, knows all the in's and outs, and pointed me in the right direction EVERY time! Hand's down the BEST lawyer I have ever had!

David was the second attorney I hired. I was glad I made the change. While my first attorney was pressuring me to accept a bad deal, David always listened to my concerns and gave me clear legal advice leaving me in charge of my decisions. I appreciated this about him the most. In the end, he got me much more time with my daughter and a much bigger financial settlement. If you are seeking an honest, humble attorney with skill and expertise, David is your man. A rare find these days!

David is an amazing attorney that knows the law. We came to him originally to consult with him in 2011 from out of state to talk to him about custody of my husband's son who lived in RI. Dealing with an out-of-state custody situation can be costly and complicated. He was upfront and honest and let us know his best opinion and at that time it was to wait until he was "of age" to decide.
Fast forward 6 years... The situation with my step-son had a lot of different variables, a lot of different things that a typical custody case. We were not going up against the mother; unfortunately she had passed away and the great-aunt had guardianship. David was strategic and skillful throughout the whole process. With a situation such as ours, it could have been long and drawn out. Everything moved quickly and from start to finish. ( approx 8 months) We now have custody and my step-son now lives with us out of state. Thank you David!

David is an amazing lawyer. He is honestly brilliant. Ive had many conversations with him regarding my high conflict custody battle and I'm always incredibly impressed by how he assesses each situation. I respect him very much for always being honest with me, even if what he's saying is not what I was hoping to hear. He's very knowledgeable and has helped me to protect my child for years now. He has never let us down and I truly believe that he cares about my case and the outcome. He's committed and experienced and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a great lawyer. I have been through several lawyers in my custody battle. None of them handled the case like David. David spent countless hours fighting for not 1 but 2 of my children. He was very invested in our case and he really cared about the outcome of our case and my children. He was able to accurately depict what was going on with my childrens father and was able to win several cases that my ex had put against me. I have been through 4 lawyers in the state of Rhode Island and none of them cared like David did. He is the best lawyer in Rhode Island without a doubt. I would definitely recommend David to anyone looking for a lawyer. He is an amazing lawyer and Person.

Tried to speak with him to retain him, he had offered to assist a week ago.....did not even let me finish speaking...I got one sentence out...e hung up abruptly...how rude. And there was no need, very unprofessional.

As a female Ivy League trained Ph.D. with no legal knowledge, I understood the importance of hiring a knowledgeable and competent lawyer while doing through a divorce with real estate and children involved. I found Mr. Slepkow to be a strong advocate. He walked me through each step and paid exceptional attention to every detail. He was well versed in R.I. law. I felt that he was not only looking after my immediate needs but also protected my long term investments. He took the time to make sure I was well versed in all aspects of my case. He not only took the time for me, but he also offered to meet with my spouse to go over all the details of my requests. I could not have hoped for a better outcome. Mr. Slepkow worked around my schedule for appointments and returned every call promptly. On the personal side, I found him intelligent, pleasant and caring. I would recommend him to my closest friends and would use his firm for all future legal matters.

Won't follow theough with request to send copy of judgement 3 months of promises now. Told us we couldn't claim foster to adopt children as dependants to offset child support agreement. Charged 850 for one court date. Beyond the word horrible

David has been a blessing to my son.I was thrust into a custody conflict that coincided with a high profile Superior Court case regarding my son's mother. From the onset the concern of David was my son's well being. I was lost and paranoid with the legal jargon and overall overwhelming court process. After my first encounter with David as my counsel, my anxiety and fears were countered with confidence. David has the wealth of knowledge in the legal system that one desires in a lawyer. We have had a 5 year relationship with David Slepkow as our family lawyer. He helped us with a divorce and a custody battle. The mediation he did during the divorce made a amiable agreement possible. The custody issue was more involved and we felt confident the whole time that we would end up with the result we were hoping for. Most of the time the Father gets the short end of the stick. But with David we won full custody and placement. Something that rarely happens. We were also very impressed with the respect he receives from peers at the court and how well all the other attorneys and judges know him. When we go to court with him, we feel he is at ease and at home in the Rhode Island family court. He is very efficient and always returns calls and never seemed to rush through things that were important to us. When we get the bill, it seems reasonable and very accurate. We would highly recommend anyone in Rhode Island to use David Slepkow as an attorney.

Things started well, but didn't contact me to discuss case till day before court. No follow through after. Had to prod to get action. Paid 650.00 up front for 2 or 3 hours work max. After, you're on your own. Buyer beware. Do your homework well, but don't shop here!

David recently represented me in an uphill struggle to vacate a plea, then fight it. He was able to vacate the plea (which itself was an enormous accomplishment ) and then have the case dismissed. David is very knowledgeable, and clearly has done significant research in his field. What was also especially impressive to me was his excellent client service. He never went more than 24 hours to respond to messages, works on weekends, uses emails, and he clearly communicates procedures and potential scenarios. He was always on time, and sincerely wanted to provide tough defense. Hiring David is money well spent, and I wouldn't think twice about it.

David went above and beyond for my case. I had a difficult legal issue involving my children that spanned two jurisdictions with little case law. I had been frustrated for many years with travel out of state when my children lived here in Rhode Island with me. David spent a lot of time with me discussing the case, making sure I understood the legal issues and what we needed to do to get a result that benefited my children. I found David Slepkow by lawyer feedback sites like this one and additionally by all of the his published works on the internet (just Google "David Slepkow" and you won't believe the results!). In my mind, David is exactly what all attorneys should be like. He is very professional, friendly, highly organized, very dedicated to his clients, thinks very logically and works tirelessly for your cause! Ask him any question and he will give you straight forward answers in plain English, not legalese; and any good attorney worth while would do that for his clients!
I was served extremely well by him! david is a very good attorney. sadly people dont realize that he has other cases other than just their own and need to realize that calling someone back just takes time. he called me at 9 at night at one point to make sure we had gone over everything. i appreciate his honesty and work ethic and will refer him to anyone who may need help in the future.
