I am so sorry this lawyer has been badly rated on this site. he has been a great lawyer in the past. but in the past few years he has suffered from very serious health conditions with memory loss and problems with pain. The pressure to keep his home among other issues, forced him to work well beyond when he should have retired. He may have made mistakes but it wasn't because of did't care or want to do his best, it was because his health conditions stopped him. He has helped people for many, many years both as a cop and as a lawyer. I hope everyone can forgive if he made a mistake on your case. If you look back on his career he has done great things for many people. FYI he is now retired.

Over all, this was not a bad relationship. I found him to be compassionate and kind in a very difficult time. My complicated case took about 9 months to complete. In the future when I needed an attorney and he could not take my case, he referred me to another good guy. I'm sad to see so many people that are unhappy with his services, as I did not have that experience.

The best advice I can offer is not to even waste your time calling this attorney. We retained him for a week and he charged us $1400 wothout going to court or filing one document. Horrible attorney! After feeling like he was unprofessional, we decided to check reviews....only to find him listed under two different names...after reading the reviews and pointing out several similarities, we decided to release him and retain another attorney. Now it is a fight to get any of our $2500 retainer back. If you want an attorney, I suggest Laura Groves. She is honest and will do everything she can to help you. She does not sugar coat things or tell you what you want to hear. She also doesn't charge you $1400 for (4) days of doing nothing......

As others have already commented before me, this attorney has mixed up communication in my case and I also believe never filed a single document on my behalf during an important motion regarding my case despite tremendous efforts and work on my behalf through e-mails to help move my case forward without delays. There were too many delays and excuses on his part and a huge lack of accountability on this attorneys behalf. I suspected delay tactics from the very begining and I feel that he never represented me during any argument or agreement. I made a terrible mistake to keep him on so long and I was grateful to have cut him loose before he could damage my case even further. I don't know how to rate him. I beleive he was telling me the right things but he never carried them out.

Basically a very frustrating and unproductive relationship. Based on another rating I read, I have realized I may have been too sympathetic to his errors,mistakes,lack of preparation and disregard of direction. My trial left me speechless at the lack of preperation and insight into my case. At times even the most basic proccedures were ignored. I found myself in a postion where we were doing basic preperation in the court room because he was not prepared and had forgotten things I had told him numerous times. Reading that even one other person was damaged like this makes me realize I must do what I can to prevent someone else from this same experience. My case was quite straight forward with no custody issues and yet, as a result of postponments because he was not prepared, my case lasted two years. I found myself correcting things via email to him over and over only to get billed because he had to redo things he got confused in the first place. Lots of stories shocking many.

Mr Compatore said the support modification would take $$3500 and take about a month and a half. He took 8 months and charged over $12,000. He seemed to have trouble receiving or understanding simple emails and refused to respond to direct questions. Basically I was kept in the dark except for the monthly bill. He prepared figures for the trial in the few minutes before the judge walked in and even then got them wrong. He never seemed to have a firm grasp of the facts in the case and that was painfully evident at trial. Basically I felt as though I was taken in a clever con.
