Will any one of us ever be ready for a divorce?
It’s an emotional hurricane. You know it’s coming, you know it’s too late to run, so do you just ride it out? Oh, and there is no “school" to teach you what to do during the "hurrivorce"

I needed a divorce attorney and was running out of time responding to papers. I was calling everywhere; I would get answering services or the run around with no solution that was costly. I was discouraged, scared and nervous, I took a chance and called the law office of Deborah G. Fiss Esq., and she picked up herself (most of the lawyers I contacted were away)! First thing she did was calm me down and guided me on what I needed to do to make sure nothing would default with how I answered. She also gave me an appointment for consultation within a few days of our first conversation.

Debbie is the best you can get. She is knowledgeable, personable and strategically oriented throughout my consultation. You see, I’m the type of person that likes to deal with people who are lively and have some spunk. Going through a divorce is tough enough, having a lawyer that’s mundane makes it tougher. I had started divorce discussions with a Manhattan Divorce lawyer because I thought someone good and close to work would work best for me. My Manhattan lawyer recommended I use Debbie because she knows what she's doing (he recommends her to his friends and family) and she knows all the players in the Queens system - all of them (Judges, mediators, appraisers, etc). My ex was very combative but Debbie was still able to help us unwind 18 years of marriage and custody of our two kids in under a year. I got better custody arrangement than I expected, better child support arrangement than expected and finished proceedings just under the budget I set. I would absolutely hire her again (but hope I don't have to).

I was married to my ex-husband for 20 yrs, the last 10 of which were torturous for me. I decided to stay in until my daughters graduated. Debbie worked with me post- Judgement to rectify a difficult and one- sided child support and custody situation with a completely intractable and selfish ex. didn't know this was here but now that I found it I would like to thank Deborah Fiss and her staff for all they did during my divorce. She is very good at what she does and well respected in the court system. Thanks to Deborah, I have my kid with me. I interviewed close to 10 attorneys before getting to her. She is smart and has a positive attitude, always open to conciliate. Even before the case started, she did the right steps to be ahead in the process. Deborah is very knowledgeable with the court procedures and explains to you what is coming next. She also explains to you how the time of her services has been spent. Of course, as any other person passing through a divorce, I was afraid of my lawyer extending the case to overcharge, but she got a fast resolution of the case by her conciliatory philosophy. In order to be fair with this review, I will suggest to her to be more open to silly questions coming from his clients, remember that we have no clue, a lot of anxiety and, I would say, tremors. This lawyer is not as good as described below. She did not do her job well throughout my divorce process. Instead, she charged me a huge amount of money, promised so many things and at the end, all her promises meant nothing. My ex's attorney was very strong. He really fought for his client. Deborah charges money before she does anything. All she needs is money. Her office staff is not as good as described also. One of the secretaries was rude with me on the phone. I would not recomment this lawyer to anybody.
