As a mediator, I expected to be briefed on what was required of me. Instead, I was placed on a Zoom call with my lawyer and my ex’s lawyer. My ex arrived twenty minutes late, and JP immediately complimented his beard — a red flag I noticed right away. In a room of lawyers, I expected the one I was paying to have working headphones and actually support me.
I was bullied and repeatedly shushed when I was asked a question (by JP) and I was trying to respond. I entered the meeting unaware I could refuse or delay the agreement. I couldn’t explain this was a domestic violence situation and felt pressured into an agreement that day. It was never court-approved, leaving me without enforcement through MEP, yet I was still told I had to comply.
JP displayed many narcissistic traits and had no problem taking advantage of a single mother trying to hold everything together while the dad used the kids and the system to manipulate and abuse.
