AVOID! This lawyer was at Seveny Scott, her own family’s law firm. She left that law firm and moved around. As of a couple of months ago, she is self-employed in a part-time capacity.
After our first retainer meeting, her attitude changed. Despite my prompt payment of her invoices every month, at subsequent meetings, she was condescending and rude, to the point of being downright unprofessional. Yet her invoices kept coming without progress. After charging five figures, filing no Court documents, she pressured me to settle, even though I had evidence which she never used. Two other lawyers later advised me that they were puzzled as to why Karen Scott never used this evidence to proceed with the lawsuit.
Don't be fooled by her “resume statements,” her education (of which she will brag a great deal) and boasted years of experience-–she couldn’t last at her family’s law firm. She is pedantic and belittling towards her clients and others, but is nowhere near a great lawyer in her field
