Laura no longer practices under Shawlegal. She is now with Jamal family law in Oakville. I cannot stress enough, do not hire her!!She takes forever to respond, gives terrible advice, has no compassion and after a year of working with her, our case went nowhere, yet we were still charged for her services without result. She kept our case even after knowing that she could no longer support it once she moved to the new law firm. Once again, I cannot stress enough, save your money and find another lawyer that will actually produce some sort of result. Even after we switched lawyers, it took her months to transfer our file. Frustrating does not even begin to describe our dealings with her.

Sending threats to me if I want to pull out of family court in order to do what was best for my daughter. I agreed to let my ex-husband have custody as I would have to travel. However, she threatened me with tons of thousands of legal fees if I did not comply by the court. I simply wanted to decide out of court. My ex husband agreed the same however, Laura, despite an Ontario lawyer decision was fighting it, and manipulating between my ex husband and myself.. She will make up lies about owing money if you quit court. She definitely does not have the child in mind. She just has her deep, rich, greedy pockets in mind such a shame. My ex had children’s aid involved, which they did dissolve his case as they saw it was false. It was a falsely made case to CAS by Laura . She thinks because she used to work for CAS. She has power. Seems CAS doesn’t even like her either. Stay away from this Lawyer at all cost.
