Scheduled an 'informational' interview to see if we would work together on my case. At the end of the interview she informed me I must pay her for her time! Before the meeting neither she, nor her secretary, warned me that they charge for a first meeting.Unethical!

She demanded more money and when I couldn't pay, she sabotaged me by partnering with the opposing lawyer. She told me that if I contest the opposing lawyer's motion, she will not represent me. (This begs the question of why even have her as a lawyer if she gives that ultimatum.) She yelled at me over the phone, she demeaned me and then she told me that my case is like a "terminal cancer" and that she knows of no strategy that will allow me to win. She then asked me what I planned to do. So I strung her along for a bit and then right before the court date, I fired her. In her place, I hired a lawyer who was just starting out in this field and we won in less than 15 minutes. The opposing lawyer was completely discombobulated in court. Perhaps because the information she received from Me Guay on my strategy was wrong? ;)
