Based on my experience with Margrit Jo, I found her communication style unnecessarily condescending, adversarial and conflict-driven. At times, her tone suggested the authority of a senior lawyer, but I did not feel the experience or substance demonstrated justified that approach. More concerning was what I perceived as a lack of genuinely child-focused advocacy. In my experience, positions were advanced that appeared to enable rather than discourage conduct contributing to parental alienation and the weaponization of children in parental conflict. Family lawyers should reduce conflict, protect children from adult disputes and encourage healthy relationships with both parents where appropriate. That was not my experience. Being aggressive or condescending does not make someone a stronger advocate. As she gains experience, I hope she develops a less condescending, less conflict-driven and more child-focused approach. Based on my experience, significant improvement is needed.
