I hired this lawyer and paid a $2,000 retainer. However, I cancelled her services within 24 hours, before she had even received my file or had an opportunity to meaningfully work on my matter.
Despite the very short time between retaining her and cancelling, I was disappointed that she kept most of the $2,000 retainer. Given that the cancellation happened within 24 hours and before she had received my file, I expected a much more reasonable refund.
I understand that lawyers may be entitled to payment for work actually performed, but in my experience, the amount retained did not seem proportionate to the circumstances. I would encourage anyone considering retaining this lawyer to ask detailed questions in advance about the retainer agreement, cancellation terms, and how unused funds will be handled.
Based on my experience, I would not choose to retain this lawyer again.

Jennifer is an amazing lawyer. She helped me with a landlord and tenant dispute. I was being evicted from my apartment and pay a high fine. She was able to convince the landlord to let me stay there and drop the fine without ever going to court. She was clear and direct and her rates are affordable. I would highly recommend her!
