I wouldn't work with this lawyer again or recommend him. He was mentioned as having done some good work for a friend of a friend. McCubbin advised to appeal rather than reapply to a decision. I did so, a process which took about 2 years all told, to be turned down as a formality. I reapplied and was accepted immediately; if I had done that right away I would (counting what I would have received and saved) retained a total of $220,000. I have since learned that in cases of this kind appeals are almost never accepted - knowledge of this kind was why I sought a lawyer in the first place. Appallingly, McCubbin also took a strong and personal interest in the details of how and when I was injured in my military service. He applied a lot of pressure to get me to tell him what happened. I've never felt more professionally let down and personally assaulted by a someone with a fiduciary duty.
