I had the opportunity to avail Family law related services from Mr. Kirby in the past and I have to say, that he is one of the best family lawyers that I have ever dealt with. He actually tells you the rule number and sections from the Family Law Rules. He quotes you caselaws from the top of his mind and he even provides an actual strategy/way forward within just listening to you for say, 10-15 minutes. I think for a family law litigation, Mr.Kirby is one of the best lawyers in Ontario. One would not go wrong in retaining him. Also, even if you are no longer retaining him, if you contact him after say, 2 years and ask him for advice, he willingly listens to you and provides you some advice. This shows how much he cares for his clients.

Avoid Stephen at all costs, if you care about your case and outcome. Stephen billed every lunch hour, bathroom break, and driving time he could. The judge basically called him out for delay tactics and unethical behaviour. I think the judgment would have been more in my favor with a different, more respected attorney. He was a little cheaper than his associates, such as Michael, but in retrospect, I should have hired a different attorney, and a different firm.
