This lawyer is more concerned with her standing among the law society – or other colleagues in the legal profession – than she is with her clients. This lawyer plays it safe and is a conservative self-calculator who will try to protect her own position rather than take risks for her clients. If you want to win the law school moot competition, this is who you should hire. If you want someone who understands the realpolitik of family law, avoid like the plague. In particular, if you have a child with a special-needs dynamic involved with the case, avoid this lawyer, like the plague, because she does absolutely nothing to help you. She cares about herself more than she cares about you, her potential client.
