I could only imagine the different types of lawyers that are out there, but thankfully Matt is one of the better ones. I never had to hire a lawyer before but Matt was very patient with me and explained the process of divorce in Ontario (and it’s incredibly cumbersome and not client friendly). I was married and have children and we were family and yet the process turns everyone adversarial. Thank goodness Matt made the process easy for me and advocated on what I thought was important. He was articulate and paid attention to detail. He picked up on things that the opposing lawyer tried to gloss over or leave out. At the end, we settled prior to the trial date which is what I wanted and it was what Matt intended to do…. which was save me the cost of a trial (monetary and mentally saved me). I felt so comfortable going through this process and having him guide me through it. I never want to go through anything like this again, but I’m glad he was there to resolve my case in my favour !!

Mathew Madott is a dangerous inept lawyer. He would out in out lie in my correspondence by stretching the truth on every point to hurt my ex-husband. It started costing me my case. All his representation did is make my case worse. He did everything he could to separate my kids from their father. He claims to be a family man but does everything he can to separate children from their parents. While my case got worse, he wrote these long-winded letters that got him paid by the word, in the end, any monies I got went to him. He likes to handle everything in writing because when he gets in a courtroom he stutters like an idiot. My new lawyer wrapped up my case in two months and the adversarial nature of my case went out the door with this idiot. Going out of one’s way to make a parent look like a crazy lunatic only hurts the children, when its not true. You want your case to drain you of all your money and get worse use this guy.

Mr Madott has extensive knowledge of complex family litigation and possesses adequate skills to defend your rights and achieve a favourable outcome. He does so with reason, excellent communication skills and highly professional conduct. I would recommend his services to anyone who feels left out in the wilderness of painstaking justice system and requires to defend his/her rights and the rights of the children involved

Its unusual for a husband to complain about a wife's lawyer after he wins... unless Matt got under his skin. My experience with Matt is totally opposite!!! I found Matt to be knowledgeable, personable, and grounded by and limited to the law that applies in each case..... and in my case we were the successful party having obtained sole custody, exclusive possession, and income imputed against my ex-wife (who wanted as much money as possible, at the expense my kids). Matt organized my case, approaching each motion carefully and thoughtfully - which was a difficult task going up against a lawyer who loved producing motions for the purpose of milking me and the system with sloth-like speed. Matt is an excellent advocate who would rather see resolution than a costly trial. He was successful in keeping my costs down while ending up as the successful party. He demonstrated an ability to temper litigation with empathy. I strongly recommend Matt to anyone (except to my Ex)!!!!

Matthew Madott represented my ex in my divorce case. Over many years my case went on, I was able to watch Matthew misrepresent my ex wife every step of the way. Sure, I am a caring, loving father, who only ever fought for my kids, and would not play games, but the obvious bad advice my ex followed from Matthew throughout our case had her lose a Motion For Emergency Access, lose every motion Matthew brought forward because they were written in the form of fiction. Matthew thinks nothing of creating fantasy facts about opposing clients but judges see right through lawyers like this. And in court, lol, watching Matthew stumble over his own words, its hard to remember lie's, was actually embarrassing. Ultimately I watched Matthew's inept lawyering cause my ex to be evicted out of the matrimonial home, forthwith!, meaning she was giving 1 second to leave, why, the legal system was sick and tired of the games. You want to lose hire Matthew Madott!
