Claire has gone above and beyond in every aspect of my child custody and divorce settlement. I would choose her every time. She’s aggressive when needed, very knowledgeable, and honest about outcomes good or bad. Claire is very responsive and gives a personal touch to her communication which makes me feel so comfortable talking to her. I am proud to refer to anyone who needs similar legal assistance. Claire is an excellent lawyer.
She is knowledgeable, responsible, and easy to communicate. She doesn't disappear when you need her and doesn't drag the case like the majority of family lawyers in Alberta.
She was the fifth lawyer I hired after termination of the previous 4. And I definitely made the right decision. She finalized my case via the settlement, and my 6 years journey through the courts with huge litigation cost was finally over.

I Used Claire for my long divorce battle, which was being dealt with through another lawyer, when I gave her my info, she went through all the paperwork and noticed mistakes from previous lawyer which was dragging out the process, thanks to Claire she made the divorce happen, I am so grateful for her expertise and dedication. Claire helped make what could have been an incredibly stressful and traumatic experience so much easier to navigate. She was very efficient with her communication, suggested things that I would have never considered and made sure that my child and I were protected. She was very personable from our very first interaction, made sure that I understood what was going into the legal agreements being signed and always made sure to connect with me as the process progressed so that I knew what was happening and had a say in how things proceeded. I actually found Claire Spicer through this site and she is highly rated for great reason. She stepped into an ongoing court battle (2015-2023) with my ex-spouse, listened to my concepts and arcs for proceeding and provided me with a tenable game plan that was reasonable and fair. Due to the intricacies of my pension issues, the long stale mate of determining my final support obligations and the owing of child support back to me, Claire conducted extensive case research coupled with her vast knowledge and expertise in order to finally conclude my case successfully with divorce and all expectations met. Claire is upfront with legal expectations and possible branches to plans, communicates concisely and was able to steer around potential stalling issues caused by the opposing party. Claire is worth every penny and I would request her services again. Anyone with a family matter should at the very least, consult Claire Spicer - if hired, she won't let you down.

I hired Claire for a separation agreement as well as representing me for my divorce, after she was recommended to me by a friend. She is very responsive to emails and phone calls, and has a friendly personality but I definitely got the feel that she would fight for me if needed. She treated me with compassion and was very transparent and direct about potential outcomes and things that I don't understand about the legal process. She helped make one of the worst parts of my life a little bit easier and gave me the peace of mind to navigate the changes in my life while knowing I was legally protected. Highly recommend her and will definitely retain her again if I require family law representation in the future.

If your looking for a lawyer that just wants to take the easy way out, Claire is the one for you. She doesn't try to fight for you. She doesn't support you when the other lawyers are stabbing at you. If you want everything said and done, sure, she's OK at it. But if you're needing support and a fighter. No, she is definitely not the one. And her cost is through the roof. I strongly DO NOT suggest Claire.

Claire is the lawyer you want to get if you are dealing with a difficult law matter. Claire is very prompt with communication, fights for you (and children), and fair in her billing. Claire is the calm, reasonable voice in the storm and I wouldn’t want any other lawyer standing by my side. I highly recommend Claire when dealing with high conflict family matters. She is realistic but also fights for what is right.

If I could give a 100 star rating I would. I came to Clair with a rather large and urgent matter with just three days away from a court date that had arisen with out notice. She was extremely well prepared and on point in the court room and did the best job a lawyer could ever do. I was very Happy that day. I cant thank her enough...

Claire has just finished representing my Granddaughter in a battle with her ex over their son. Claire was always very straight forward and fully supportive, she never promised anything saying it was up to the judge. She explained everything and told us that we had a good case. Claire is great & well worth the drive into Edmonton. She is friendly, professional, very fast & effiicent. I am finally close to having a final & reasonable settlement after only 6 months. I am very grateful that Claire accepts Legal Aid cases, or I would still be waiting for a settlement due to lack of money & an ex who refused to co-operate with my 1st (non-LegalAid) lawyer. Claire got more results in the 1st month than had been received in the 3 1/2 years prior. I strongly recommend Claire Spicer.

Claire has done some amazing work on my file. With a different lawyer I had a NINE YEAR stalled divorce. She took over the file and got quick results for my family. Claire is a realistic, compassionate, and skilled lawyer specializing in family law. She focuses on the key issues, and works hard to get the outcomes that are possible at this time. In my case, she ran up against another lawyer who used a variety of stalling tactics, including dragging many extraneous issues into court. She cut through the BS, and got results. In court she is extremely clear, well prepared, and organized. She won't promise you the moon, and will tell you what can be done at this point, and what will work - lots of people, including, I suspect, the first reviewer, don't like to hear that, but if you listen, she'll explain why, set realistic goals, and plan a longer term strategy - that can be frustrating, but that's family law. I hired her to replace a more experienced lawyer, and she was far more successful than him - she cares and she's strategically smart.

Claire was hired earlier this year to defend my son in a custody dispute. Throughout the case Claire showed a lack of empathy, always recommended settlement that was more in favour of the non-custodial, hardly present mother and despite repeated requests regarding child support she ignored the issue. Today the Judge said it could not be addressed because it had not been applied for. Big failure on Claires part. My son has had custody for one year without a dime of help Claire a month ago but we were convinced to provide a further retainer of $5000.00 and continue to fight. Stated she was onside with my son but today proved she did not have the tenacity to stand up and defend him. She is an expensive, roll-over on her belly lawyer. She communicates well by email but over-bills for her communications with no results that are positive. She speaks out of turn to opposing counsel without having been instructed to do so. She was fired today.
