The children she affected by repeatedly lying to the court are still emotionally and financially harmed by her deceitful actions. She never considered the bests interests of the children and.should not be allowed to practice family law in Canada. Lawyers like her are why the general public rank the trustworthiness of lawyers below that of used car dealers.

This lawyer has a LOT OF NERVE calling herself a collaborative family lawyer on her website. Beware of this awful person who did not once consider the best interest of my grandchildren in her vexatious litigation against their mother. She deceived Justices in every hearing I attended. I hope the Alberta Law Society does something to deter her from practicing in family law. If you have no case, don't mind lying under oath, and simply want to deny, delay, and gaslight our justice system, then Kathy Drouin-Carey is the lawyer for you.

Do not use this person as a child and family advocate. Unfortunately people often try out a professional only to learn later they are incompetent. She waz as harmful to our granddaughter as the people that abused her. We had her make an application for us. My response to her was...Hi Kathy, I have to say that I am a little disappointed with the email you sent to the court and the way you included the respondents in the email before you even knew the procedure.
You also demonstrated a meek disposition and an unknowledgable position.
The letter try's to speak to urgency or emergency but does not. Insulting Children's Services is not a good strategy. I don't think that you can speak to emergency without demonstrating high risk and danger to safety for wifeand I, our family, and baby. I believe you need to consult with another experienced child welfare lawyer to insure the urgent need is expressed, the proper procedure is known and the full range of options are available to us... Fail

Kathy has been rude and pompous with the opposing counsel's family law client from the get go. When that client started to self- represent, Kathy's behaviour towards the SLR worsened. Outside a courtroom In July 2018 she was openly hostile to a another self-represented litigant. In 2 courts session I observed she was admonished by the Justice for not using the correct forms and for making a serious error on a child support order. She has an adversarial attitude that doesn't fit with the purpose of our court systems and certainly doesn't belong in family law.
