Nathan appeared knowledgeable and reliable at the initial, free consultation, but as soon as I put up the retainer it became clear that he was only interested in milking it for minimal work. A marriage agreement that should have been simple (no dependents, minimal assets) went way over the initial budget and took over 3 months to complete. At times it would take him over a week to reply to my emails and he could not be reached by phone. At one point he went away and transferred his work to a more junior lawyer "for a discount". Note how his firm's (HH Law in Vancouver) billing has very minimal info and I feel that I was grossly overcharged. Our marriage agreement went way over the initially suggested budget and the end result was full of typos and unenforceable clauses that took a bunch more time (and money) for my spouse's lawyer to correct. This was thousands of dollars down the drain.
