Took on our case totally out of his expertise and took advantage of our trust. Dragged it out for over a year. When opposing attorneys submitted their response, Schmidt panicked and suggested to postpone or drop the action. We fired him and he began bombarding me with email. I told him to stop! I believe it was a ethical violation to take on a case, in an area of law he knew nothing about. Th court action he wrote, and submitted, was totally based on my research and my open records request. He added nothing. He also told us not to cash a check we received from another party. That check is now no good due to its age. He shrugged that off. We paid this man $5000 for, what we perceive to be his unethical and incompetent practice. He never apologized and, in my opinion, acted like a petulant child when he was questioned and then fired.
