I cannot begin to describe how badly Ms. Matkovic mishandled my mediation. Over 10 hours of sessions with both lawyers present, and zero progress was made — not one issue actually got resolved. Appointments were missed and rescheduled repeatedly before we even got that far, dragging the process out and costing me a fortune. By the end, it felt like she simply ran out of patience and sided with my ex-wife just to end the session, rather than working through the actual issues. The advice I received throughout was, in my experience, careless and one-sided, and it's had lasting consequences for my relationship with my son — something no amount of money can undo. If you're a father heading into mediation or arbitration, I'd strongly urge you to look elsewhere. This was one of the most damaging professional experiences of my life

She is completely biased and makes up the decision without seeing the evidence. I will not recommend her to be hired by anyone. Her decisions depend on what kind of pre judgement she has already made and her mood of the day. No etiquettes or manners whatsoever

Avoid her like plague- she is very biased and gives totally one sided decisions even though hardcore evidence exists to the contrary. She treats her cases as her fiefdom and acts like a queen- talks over people, and cuts off when somone is talking in between.

DO NOT hire Matia as a mediator!! She is biased. she enforces rules for the party she likes yet demands the other party to pay her more money and trigger a full arbitration for her to enforce the same rules. She is rude and speaks over the party that she doesn't like. good news is if you get caught withholding disclosure from the other party you can simply lie to her and say you can't obtain the disclosure as she has zero knowledge of mandated record retention periods for banks. DO NOT waste your money on this incompetent mediator.

A Deeply Flawed and Harmful Arbitration Process - I had a deeply disappointing experience with Matkovic. Despite clear evidence of a high-conflict dynamic where one parent has a history of obstruction and minimal involvement in day-to-day parenting, Matkovic awarded 50/50 parenting time and decision-making. This decision ignored the reality of the situation, prioritizing "equal rights" over the children's best interests. By failing to recognize the impact of coercive control and emotional abuse, this arbitrator enabled an abuser to exert further control. If you're seeking a fair and child-centered arbitration process, look elsewhere.

I engaged Matia as a mediator / arbitrator against an abusive ex spouse. Matia was strongly biased and easily manipulated my my high conflict, manipulative ex. Her own contract required her to deliver a decision in 6 weeks - and she said in the hearing she expected to take 3 weeks. A week after the 6 week deadline, she came up with some excuse that she had had a flu. She promised 3 more deadlines which passed with no explanation, or request for extension. When she finally delivered a decision, it was full of errors of fact, errors of law, incomplete (she didn't even decide on issues she was supposed to decide on) and strongly and inappropriately biased in favour of my ex spouse who's MO is making himself out to be a victim. She went beyond her mandate hurting me for him, and didn't even consider horrendous things I sought damages for as if they had never happened, all in spite of providing extensive and compelling evidence. And her bill was insane. Avoid at all costs.

Was opposing counsel to Matia. She was ethical, professional and did a good job representing her client.
