Hired Mr. Murray after an assault charge .. I actually recorded the so called assault (which was no more than an argument .. no assault no prop damage etc etc). Mr Murray listened and said "you did nothing wrong" .. all good until he started assuming I had a mental health condition and he actually told Crown I had a delusions issue where there was no diagnosis ... yep, can't make this up. Then he recommended I sign a peace bond saying after a year it would be like nothing happened .. yeah right. Ohhh maybe he forgot to mention to me that I would loose my firearms licence because of his "loose lips" and no regard for details he should have known (afterward it took me 5 sec to Google) ... called him on it and he refused to accept any responsibility. End of day this man is self centred, ignorant to details of law and likes to play off the Crown and feeding them info that should be private .. like he is sucking up for future job or something. Do NOT trust this lawyer like I did .. he sucks

Mr. Murray is an excellent lawyer who has great skills and really cares about his clients. Mr. Murray keeps the client very informed and always looks at the best interest of the client. He has compassion and empathy.

He represented my son in a sexual assault case; completely screwed it up; was not prepared for court appearances; when he told my son he should plead guilty after taking over $50,000.00 of our money, we hired another Halifax lawyer who got the charges tossed out. Don Murray is a self centered lawyer who makes promises he can't keep to get his hands on your money; I would never trust this lawyer with anything. Avoid this lawyer at all cost.

I am a trans person with complex PTSD. I retained Donald Murray as a defense lawyer because he claimed to have experienced working with trans people and comprehensive knowledge of C-PTSD and its symptoms. I have had to drop him as my lawyer two weeks before trial because he had consistently neglected to refer to both me and my partner (also trans) by our correct genders and pronouns. As my case involves an incident of transphobic abuse against me, which Murray was aware of from my first email to him, this is beyond unacceptable. Murray further neglected to communicate with me for several months prior to the trial date, was unable or unwilling to remember that my recollection of events is wildly different from the police report of the incident, and decided without consulting me that he would not contact a medical professional to testify on me behalf, as we had discussed in person, because he claims I laughed at him in the phone once. He’s a misogynist and a transphobe. Avoid at all cost
