Adoption of three children by their step-dad is a great occasion. Sounds simple enough for a Family Law lawyer, right? If you are patient enough to wait 27 months and counting because your lawyer is not aggressive or motivated, she's yours. You have to keep after her or she won't move forward. I had to continually reach out to her to get updates on the progress. It's all smiles after the adoption hearing in May 2016, however we are still waiting for new birth certificates. She never intended to handle this last step for us. It appears to us that once she got paid she didn't have to follow thru because she had her $, was leaving for another office, and it wasn't her problem any more. This happy occasion was definitely soured by her lack of professionalism and lazy approach to every step of the process. My husband and I hired a "professional" to be sure it was done right. Sixteen years of experience, specializing in adoption her profile says. Haha!
