Mr. Michael Jakeman is a really wonderful lawyer. I can’t find any better one than him. He helped me to settle my family case in 2 months and his fees were very reasonable. He is amazing. He acts very fast and he knows what he needs to do to fight fairness for his clients. Michael really cares about his clients. He has true heart. Michael did everything possible to try and help me save on costs. I am very happy with Michael’s services. I am very satisfied with the outcome as well and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a great family lawyer.

Mr. Jakeman took on my complicated divorce case with confidence, despite the knowledge that the three other lawyers that preceded him failed and were unable to complete the case. I was faced with having to make a very large payout for reasons I did not agree with. After 7 years of battle, crippling legal fees and being told to just pay it by my other lawyers I met Mr. Jakeman. He was able to deal with this case swiftly and the final settlement was a fraction of what the other party had hoped for. It was a huge win and justified what I had fought for over the years. Michael truly cares and the results show. If you want peace of mind I strongly suggest Michael Jakeman.

Michael holds a very disruptive perspective about negotiations. Such a perspective views negotiations as a conflict, with one winner and one loser. With this view, the negotiation involves parties entrenched in opposing positions, sitting at opposite ends of the table, arguing and defending against one another in a show of who has the most power. In short this lawyer will drain you and, inevitably, your family. He will encourage you to ruin the relationship with your spouse beyond repair, thus setting your already broken family to be entirely destroyed. He does not have a family or children of his own and does not understand how damaging it is to families to encourage high conflict. Michael also encourages massive and lengthy unnecessary communications between parties (totalling tens of thousands of additional dollars at your expense had you hired a more collaborative lawyer) of which the higher experienced lawyers partially or entirely disregard. Micheal Jakeman is a fantastic lawyer. He has fought hard for my best interest in every aspect of my family case so far. His response time is quick and he is knowledgeable and helpful with explaining things to me in our complicated case. He has helped me on urgent matters after hours and on weekends, and has remained professional even when interfering on his time off. I really appreciate the effort, pride and care he takes in his profession. He has helped me get custody of my son back and occupancy of my home. Mr. Jakeman will not be pushed around by other lawyers that do not play fair and think they know best. Our file has gone to several court hearings he has been well spoken and firm on position each time. I am very satisfied with the outcome so far and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a great family lawyer.

Was not impressed with the outcome and results of his work. After everything had settled and my custody agreement was updated, I realized there was an error. I brought it to his attention and he was trying to put the blame on me and told me that I was lucky he wasn't charging me for the phone call I was having with him when I told him about it. When in reality he just had no idea what was going on. He didn't take the time to fully understand the situation and didn't care. It showed. My child support payments, on my new agreement, are to be paid bi weekly (this is the error and it should read bi monthly). The figures that were being used were calculated for monthly payments. Which in turn forces me to make extra payments throughout the year. Now I'm having to spend extra time fixing this. On top of all of that, he couldnt even remember my name or my sons name. Would not recommend.

Mr Jakeman took on an enormous undertaking with our challenging case. I think lawyers don't draw conclusion to their clients innocent or guilt on a personal level, but rather play a neutral role to work the case they agreed to take on. Michael Jakeman was different. He really got it, he understood and believed in what he was fighting for and why, and the truth and foundation behind it. Unfortunately the challenge was a Narcissist and sociopathic traits toxic "ex " and a Provincial court system that isn't about truth, rather who has the better story.

Michael jakeman is a really wonderful lawyer and person. Last year my husband and I went through a really tough and horrible divorce with my husband's x wife. This was a very stressful time and overwhelming. Mike did everything in his power and abilities to help us through this time. He was always very clear with us about expectations from both himself and us. He was organized 90% of the time.Even under other heavy work loads he still remembered fine details of our case. This was supposed to be a 4 day trail and turned into 10 days! Every thing was very drawn out from the opposing to the point of actually being ridiculous and extremely expensive. Mike did everything possible to try and help us save on costs, he was always very clear about the costs aswell. We all worked together as a team throughout this trail and in the end it paid off. We WON majority! We are very happy with Mike's services and forever greatful to him for how much he did for our family. We highly recommend Michael.

As the previous rating notes, Mr. Jakeman is indeed rude and disorganized. He also terminated our professional relationship by ignoring my emails until I gradually realized he was never going to respond. Although he actually did me a favour by dropping out of the case, he could have done it professionally by telling me he could no longer represent me and recommending a different lawyer. I can only imagine he didn't do so because he's tired of being a lawyer and wants me to rate him online so he won't be annoyed by any further clients. I'm happy to help with that. His firm then tried to charge me interest on a bill they never sent me in the first place. Total aggravating waste of my time and money.

Rude, unorganized and added extra stress and steps to a straight forward and clear case. Lots of communication, but gave me the feeling that he was over loaded with cases. Unprofessional.
